My three vintage Hondas

Bought this sweet little 1975 CB125S about a year ago with 4,300 original miles and in quite good shape. I've got it up to 95% like new now and ride it often.

Than last fall I scored two Honda GB500's, an '89 and a 1990. Got both in great shape now and am riding them almost daily.

Those GBs are quite nice as is the 125. I picked up an 89 GB500 a few years ago. It wasn't as well loved as yours are but I've managed to find a few decent bits on eBay to dress it up. The seat cowls are the tough part. They get cracked at the moutning points. Presumably from folks not taking their time to see to it that the screw is lined up properly with the opening.

My latest acquisition, technically an 89 but based off a model introduced in 1982 it kinda qualifies

k100rs.
~40k miles and needs the fuel delivery system rebuilt as so many do after sitting. This one was last registered in 2003 but probably hasn't mocked since 2000. Luckily the PO properly non-oped it!

I have the original side bags and it came with the original keys, a factory oil filter and the factory, hazet, filter wrench which is a big deal because the filter is inside the oil sump and the access is quite limited.

Nice, wish I'd got there first, looks really clean from the pics. Beemerboneyard has decent prices on new pumps/fuel system bits. Hopefully the PO kept the rear splines greased, that's the other big thing that gets neglected and worn out on these.

i got the pump to spin after disassembling and de-rusting it. non-rebiuldable? challenge accepted!

i was shocked it spun and i didn't lose any pieces. i'm going to try it once i collect the hoses and filter and make a vibration isolator doughnut deleter... cuz i wear ear plugs anyway, a little extra buzzing is not worth the $50 part that may or may not fall victim to gasohol again.... and if it soon fails, i'll do the Ford Ebay pump replacement. worked fine on the last K bike i had for all 20 miles i put on it before boredom set in.

i bought it off the 2nd owner. once he realized he was in over his head trying to resurrect it rather than take my offer i mentioned the splines... deer eyes. i'm sure they need lube, and something is leaking from the bottom/bellhousing. i am hoping for the clutch nut but expecting the rear main seal.

Nice. Those are fun lttle bikes.

Has anyone ever put one of the 650 dirt bike or dual-sport engines in one of those?

I doubt it. Can't touch the smoker for power.

I believe he was talking about the GB500. I think some have put a bigger lump in but it means the electric start is lost. I think there was a big bore kit for them too.

An XL600R cylinder and piston will go right on the GB500 engine no problem.

Cb450 Black Bomber,took me 49 years!

congrats!

I bought & sold mine when it was contemporary
[a used '65 purchased in '67 & sold in '70] -
there's never been anything quite like it in my garage since.....

among my faves were the 40-spoke wheels, speedo/tach, & cylinder head

I've collected some CB450 literature, fotos & ads which you might enjoy examining
