Event Flyer: http://www.sactopits.org/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/BACFlyer13.pdf.

The event is set up like the Scottish Six Day Trials (SSDT). Three 6-mile loops each with 10 special sections! Run under any weather conditions and will include riding in (not just across) the streams/creek beds.

Some participants are on vintage and regular dirt bikes.

Here's a video of the SSDT:

British American Cup [BAC]
April 13 & 14, Frank Raines OHV Park near Patterson, CA

Ever long for the old days of observed trials?
When the loops were long, and the sections were not quite so challenging?
This year, again, the BAC on Sunday is a return to yesteryear.

Saturday Signups at 11AM, Trial starts at Noon.

Sunday will have a loop of approximately 6 miles and 10+ sections.
Signups at 9AM, Trial starts at 10 AM.

GPS Coordinates 37.4232, -121.3809

Directions: From Hwy 5, take Diablo Grande Parkway/Sperry Ave Exit.
Go west on Diablo Grande Parkway, take right onto Del Puerto Canyon Road.
In 16 miles you will see the park entrance on your right.

Day use $5 per vehicle (regardless of how many dirt bikes you bring)
Camping available, both dry and with hook-ups.
No potable water, so bring liquids to drink.

POTLUCK dinner begins at 6:30 PM.
Bring your favorite British or American cuisine.

Old trials movies circa 1930-1940 and dart tournament, should be fun for all.

See www.sactopits.org and click on British American Trial for the Flyer.

Hope to see you there.

I gotta see this. Will there be any foreigners there? The name of the event might imply that.
I went to the the Wagner Cup once and the French and Japanese and Spanish and the Italians, etcetera were there. It was hilarious, peeps trying to cheat in foreign languages...

Great meeting you guys as well! I was pretty tired by the end of the third loop.

Agree with SVJ, there is so much to learn but look forward to the satisfaction of getting better!

We'll have to ride together soon.

Wow!! I thought I knew how to ride..guess not, at least standing up and not dabbing. I think I dog paddled up that canyon heading into check 3. I too, like the others have a lot to learn and Im loving it! Too bad I forgot my inhaler and had to pass after the first loop due to wheezing..damn! next time. It was nice meeting everyone and yes lets ride/practice. Im looking to do the Cow Pile in Marin next anyone else ? When is BARF going to set up a Trials page ? :teeth

Reality Check

Hint: The Trials event we just experienced may be the closest thing in skill and fitness to an Erzberg or Romaniacs scenario... :kicknuts

I guess the Secret is out! :mad If the Dirty BARFers figure out what they're missing there won't be enough Trials Bikes in North America to meet the Bay Area demand.

On the other hand the few riders with the guts or curiosity to give it a try will either be humbled and quit riding; or discover a new motorcycling challenge and really mature as a rider.

Have you guys figured out that this may be the least expensive form of motorcycling? A set of trials tires may last us 2-years; 2-gallons of gas will last us all day; and other than a helmet and boots there isn't much gear. Did you notice that many of us ride in T-shirts, tank tops, sunglasses, and jeans?

I spoke with Mandy at Lewis sport and she said that the Cowpile event is awesome. Longer loop between sectios and at some points you are up in the hills with a view of the ocean.

Can't wait!
