Holy cow, some of those names ring a bell. I used to see quite a few of those racers walk into our shop when I worked at Performance & Design.

One pic below features KSJO's infamous morning show jocks.

Perry Stone and Trish Bell.. Perry was canned for telling Girls Scouts to keep their cookie money..

In reality he was a super nice and refined gentleman. Put a mic in front of him and that changed.

You can find JoMo in the back round of one pic.. same old shoes.

Anyone have anything from the 70s?
<<< Yes (Avatar =me racing "AFM 750 SuperStreet" in 78'/79'/80'. Often started alongside Emde/White & other "stars" of the day.)

Most of my 70's/80's pics are on hardcopy; I've never scanned them in. I do plan to do that someday as I have literally thousands of pics of both AFM'ers & AMA/GP racers from that period. Lots of SP & Laguna pics.

I retired from racing late 84', but still was pitcrew until ~90 or so; don't recall people in most of the above pics (wrenching not watching!) How could you forget Tom's hair tho! Recall that one for sure!!! :laughing Dwayne Chung's success was quite memorable too.

One of my strongest memories is watching David Emde & Daryl White banging cases/fairings entering Turn 2 every 750cc Superstreet race; both leaving rubber to see who would be 1st into the turn. What a sight -every- race w/me following a distant third! :thumbup

Last ones... :(

A few of the hand out posters from KSJO events.

KSJO used to give me CD's to give away and that is how I became friends with Ralph Sheheen, then AFM announcer.

Ralph made a living out of broadcasting and was a good guy that launched to that success via the AFM.

hey Dave, we know each other. (I was teaching when we met, raced formula mazdas). I know there are a handful of 70s racers here: me, you, curt (first buell) and portere, but i'm always looking for more. Made a lot of good friends back then that i've lost touch with. The days before knee pucks, run off, air fences and tire warmers, when racing was dangerous and sex was safe.

Wow...Daryl White...I'd love to see a photo of him racing if you ever find the time to scan those photos :) I'm sure Ron would like to see them, too :)

Duct tape, hold your line, old tires and isn't that what the first lap was for?

Thanks for all the photos, budman! :thumbup

Oh, yeah! I totally had fun scanning the photos. Sweet trip down memory lane, for sure. For some of them we had photos scattered all over the place, we were making calls to friends and family asking them who this was or where that was, we were drinking wine...it was way more fun than what comes to mind when thinking about the daunting task of scanning a ton of old photos, that's for sure! Do it...you won't regret it! Then share them with us :teeth

I need to wrestle all the older photos away from Eric's dad. Most of them are slides but I can get photos made, or get `em on a disc or something. They're far too precious, too much a very important and integral part of our lives, to just let them sit idle and not be seen and/or shared.

Indeed..more than a few.

If my Dad had been a moto man I would have been racing back then. Begged to go racing in 74.. Pops said no.. busted my 16 yo dream of being a pro racer right there.

Bob Tigert.. Jeff's dad!
Mike Summers and Vance Breese.. Art Chambers passed me a couple of times.
Bruce Hammer.. Keith Code.. :wow

Several others that were National names.. too. :cool

Question.. several Parriott's in there.. related to Brian by chance?
