Old Enough to Know Better
Did the Saturday loop this morning, there were at least 3 if not 4 on going burns on the hillside immediately adjacent to Calaveras Rd. There were at least a dozen fire trucks responding, complete with helicopter bucket as well as platoons of fireman marching in full gear.
Note that they had sprayed fire retardant covering the Milpitas side, that combined with the burn smoke and charred hill side makes for bad times. Once they open up Calaveras Rd. again, keep an eye out for the pink stuff covering the road, one of the fire marshals warned me that the retardant covered surfaces will be slippery as ice.
Passing by the first patch of fire
Helicopter bucket circling the area
Brave firefighters on the move
Second patch of fire
Another fire about not even a mile down the road
First Responders
Thick smoke
Pictures continued below...
