WTB CB450/CL/Cb500T frame w/good papers

Hi there

My name is augustiron and I am a 450 DOHC nut.
I used to have cb450 parts stacked to the ceiling but I gave them away years ago as I thought I could give them up, but I have a project in mind for a custom and I need a titled frame, cheap/free/trade.

frame or partial bike : Cb450K1 or later, CB500T, CL450 needed, must have good title and no back fees. I have 2 other bikes I have to do the "no papers" dance with already, I have failed on one of them but will try again, I'd like to avoid that.

What for?
Picture a REAL CL450 scrambler, w/modern offroad suspension and bodywork...

Why?
I just bought a 2002 KTM MXC w/a blown engine and title issues, I want to put the complete KTM suspension on a modified CB/L 450 frame. I already have a completely rebuilt mint CL450 engine in my chopper I will use.

Other possible bad ideas are:
putting the single FCR carb on the twin
custom lightweight exhaust (CRF 250 dual mufflers under the tail)
?? tank
offroad style seat and bodywork

I know, sounds stupid for the power to weight ratio but what the hell. If I can get a good hookup, I will do my best to have this on the Sheetiron 300 this year.

so, anyone got one lying around? If BARF can hook me up I will even document the build here (something I have never been able to be patient enough to take the time to do)

That sounds like a fun project!
Don't you hate it when you get rid of something, and find out you needed it later?
I don't know of any CB or CL 450's offhand that are available, but I'll keep my eyes open. The big OVM swap meet and show is coming up in just under a month. There are usually a lot of basket cases and partial bikes for sale there.
If there's a 450 among them, I'll get the seller's contact info and pass it on to you.
The basket cases usually don't sell on the day.

I am sure you already know but you should keep an eye out for the CM series too. They were a discount line of bikes from 1980 - 84, great bikes that generally use all the same parts.

Cheers

the CM is totally 100% a different bike from what I am looking for.
I have a DOHC 450 engine I rebuilt and still have enough other parts laying around to piece this together minus a frame.
I want nothing to do with CMs. :x
