Would this jacket get me pulled over?

That's bad ass! I want to drive one of those around.

I don't think anyone would think you were a cop wearing that. What real cop would wear that? I just saw some young dude the other day wearing this Urban Outfitters looking shirt with various patches and sergeant chevron on the shoulders. I don't think anyone thought he was a cop or in the military.

True. It's also $50 vs $1800.

In Germany they sell the 3X, which may fit better. But they want 50 euros to ship!

I'll probably take my chances with the 2X when it come back in stock in a couple of weeks. Worst case if I get paranoid about things is just put some reflective tape over the first letter or something.

The leather Belstaff is badass. But I was just doing some research and can literally have a bespoke one made for me in Italy for about 1k. Which is where the leather Bellstaffs are now made anyway.

We get people calling on crown vics with no markings, White/Black BMWS no markings, guaranteed someone would call this in. Maybe our citizens are just more worried but our department deals with calls everyday where we shake our heads that someone actually called it in.

False Alarm!

They took it off their site - and I need a Gore-Tex jacket so I can ride in the rain.

Found this one - it has 3 parts:

an outer jacket
a windbreaker
an inner vest

They can be worn together or separate. $113 - basically same cut as the Belstaff but way cheaper. And I don't have to wax it.

Interestingly, also made in Romania - which is the same place that makes the Belstaff waxed cotton jackets.

Thanks everyone for your help!!!

Wow that one is pretty cool. I was going to recommend finding an old Hein Gericke 3/4 length leather jacket. I love mine and it looks the part on the vintage rides.

Can you post a link to the site you're looking at? :thumbup

I've seen people give money to fake veterans dressed in dolled up uniforms all the time. The common lay civilian has no idea what constitutes a correct military uniform and I suspect, to the same extent, the proper police officer uniform. They simply wouldn't know the difference and would generally assume it was legit. Hell, I can barely watch military-themed movies anymore since, even with veteran advisors, they still get the uniforms all wrong. I can spot a fake on the street from a huge distance too. Anyone that's been in the military for a minute can tell the difference right away.

Re Tired Not Dead
Good point! You might have talked me out of it!!!

I'm actually kind of just debating inside my head on whether I want to just get the Belstaff.

<SNIP>

My friend Andrew Capone owns britishmotorcyclegear.com. They import not only Belstaff but have their own line of affordable Brit style gear.

You should check them out, it's great gear at good prices.

It's literally 36x more expensive. But I feel like I deserve it after having survived 2020, LOL.

I already have a retro bike and helmet. So I guess at the age of 59, I am feeling like I want to be hip or something!

I have a black Belstaff I've been wearing as my winter jacket for the last 5yrs+. Looks brand new and sharp AF. I did have an issue in the 1st year with the main zip failing and they had me ship it back for a factory repair (they paid both ways).

I love the wealth of pockets available too.

I do like the style! :thumbup

You’re in America son, it’s POLIZME. ;)

Really dig that second option, for the money it sounds like a hell of a deal. Any armor in it, or is it purely a jacket?

Update - the Italian jacket came in!!!

OMG it is HUGE. I am a 2X and this thing is like a 3X. But it should fit fine over a sweater. Everything is super high quality, even the zippers are works of art. I am still finding pockets and vents. This thing is intense!!!

Some things that I noticed:

1. The collar unsnaps. There was also an extra collar in one of the pockets.
2. All the pockets are covered. So you undo a snap to get to the pocket.
3. There's hidden vents under the arms that can be unzipped for warm weather. There's one on the back under a flap as well.
4. The lining can be removed. And the arms can be removed from the lining to make it into a vest.
5. There's some Velcro and buttons on the inside of the *outer* jacket that don't match anything on the liner. Maybe for something work related on their end. IDK.
6. There's also some super small pockets that I need to figure out.

All in all - easily worth a lot more than I paid!!!

I uploaded some pics. I will try tomorrow to get some better pics of the whole thing.

Killer !, show us a pic wearing it !.

TY!

My arms are too short for a selfie - but this is it laid out on my bike. Armor would be nice - I think there's a way to use velcro to attach armor between the outer jacket and liner. Could also just take to tailor and have them sew in in the pockets I guess.
