Workshop homage to Barf Baja....

hey WoodsChick, think you and Eric would enjoy Baja someday. Certainly the Guadalupe Canyon hot springs, anyway ... :ride

we managed to find the warm spring at Mission San Borja in 2017:

Bay of LA, 2017 BARF Baja ...

Kalle rocks.... I'd have joined him! :thumbup

I wanted to at least go to the meetings at Lane Splitters but it seems life has gotten complicated and busy for us these last few years :(

1987 was fun! Here I am throwing the BARf salute a full 18 years before joining!
I'd just gotten that Pink Floyd T-Shirt at their Momentary Lapse of Reason show in Oakland a few weeks before...

And you're absolutely right about no Baja ride report! :wow And I just realized I never did one for my 55th birthday either! You remember...the one where it took us 36 hours and 2 sets of snow chains to get to Benton Hot Springs :laughing I am planning on doing that when I'm home recuperating after surgery...hopefully soon!

And I'll post a photo from Baja 2009 as soon as I can figure out what I did with them... :facepalm

We need a Woodschick Baja ride report.... who cares if its neary 20 years late. Be all that more more special! :twofinger

I assume that was the CafeHuksy ride? Heard there were some adventures had on that trip. :cool

"The best stories or adventures start with a bad decision. I've made plenty." I think I need a t shirt made with these words of wisdom

Or, "You can't be lost if you never knew where you were going." That's particularly appropriate for wrong way Tom, aka Dr. Baja Jensen or anytwowilldo.

Probably most appropriate for me if "You never know if winning is losing or losing is actually winning." In the case of our impromtu pool tournament at the hotel in Catavina, I woke with vomit on both sides of the bed and my underwear on backwards when Daniel, Reb, and Tom came knocking at the door to ride the Cactus trail. Winning! I think.....:x

Yeah, the 2009 ride was the Cafe Husky ride, and as such Eric and I didn't get as much riding in as we normally would have. It was more of a social ride, and it was a blast! My "bad decision," if there was one, was agreeing to ride down to San Felipe in a Dakar chase truck with 5-point-harnesses and all that goes with it. That was a LONG f'ing ride! And also to take my SM610 with knobbies. But in February 2009 that was the only Husky in the garage! Now there are 7 :teeth The whoops heading south out of San Felipe were brutal! Those ginormous knobs kicked ass in the beach sand, though :laughing I didn't even do a ride report over on CH, just added the photos to a thread that already existed. I went back to look for more photos posted by others but a lot of them have disappeared in the PhotoBucket fiasco. I'll get to it, though! We got a tentative date of Dec 9 for me and my sister for kidney transplant surgery :wow so this is #2 on my list of forgotten ride reports to get done during the down time, right after my birthday ride with SFMCJohn! OH! And I also realized recently that I never did a ride report from a 2-week trip to Utah in 2014! I can't believe it...the whole reason I do them is so I don't forget the experience, and now I'm even forgetting to do them in the first place! What a maroon :facepalm It's funny, though, when I look at the pictures I can hear the captions in my mind, so I searched everywhere, sure that I did one but just couldn't find it, but no. So that's in the queue, too!

Super loud, super stiff, super uncomfortable, all the way to Baja via San Clemente, Ca...

Plenty of folks will and are sending good thoughts your way and hope all is success! Incredible thing you are doing for your sister. :thumbup

On a purely selfish note... I'll be looking forward to a few Woodschick ride reports during your recovery (even if YEARS late. :laughing) It will be therapeutic and your public admirers are aching for them. :teeth

When you are back on your feet and world has resumed to some sort of normalcy in 2021, hope to see you and Eric again in person around a camp fire and even a ride or two in the dirt.

While I haven't reached Woodschick status, my Husqvarna count is on the upswing. Two newly acquired ones brings the count up to three. Heck, two of three even run... a good ratio up here at the Chateau de Redneck.

Plus, you are one of the few Barfers who even knows who Heikii Mikkola is. We need our Woodschick back on bikes, providing good stories around the campfire, and writing ride reports.
