Wife built her TTR 125

So my wife had a red sticker kx100. She wanted a green sticker bike so we picked up this ttr 125 for $200 with a missing tooth on 1st gear pinion. Fast forward to today my wife has installed a yz85 front end and a bbr swingarm along with a new carb, fmf exhaust, new top end and new 1st gear pinion.

I just went to work and the magic garage did its thing :thumbup. We both did the engine work but she did the rest.

I doubt my wife could put wheels on, forget a tranny. She did a great job.

Never heard of a TTR hurting a trans, thought they were pretty bomb proof, wondering what the PO did to that thing!

When we searched online 1st gear problems came up. I don't want to say they are common but a search yielded multiple 1st gear problme.results.
