What are you doing to your AR during the SIP

I put a click-adjustable C-more (6 MOA dot?) on my lightweight AR in place of a Primary Arms micro dot (2 MOA dot?).

You can't beat C-more dot quality and now I've got a bigger dot with less clutter. And it's on in 3 clicks without looking, no need to remember which way to rotate the PA knob or look at it.

I found some brand new Forster .223 gauges and tried them on two 5.56 rifles I had assembled years ago.

In the newer barrel, only one magazine of ammo through it, the GO gauge chambered, and the NO GO gauge chambered. The instructions say it still might be acceptable headspace. But it's a .223 gauge in a 5.56 chamber so I think it's more likely to close on that NO GO gauge anyway.

Built well more like slapped this together, before the pandemic started. AR 9mm CMMG MK9 lower that takes colt mags and Fox Trot Mike AR-9 upper. Thorsden Gen1 Stock, buffer tube cover, and cheek piece. Magpul BUIS and M-LOK covers. Was going for that black and OD green look. I had to modify the upper a bit to reliably hold ASC mags. Can't wait to get me a 32rd mags when we get our freedom!

AT3 Red dot and magnifier

Only taken to the range once and it shot flawlessly at the indoor range with the flip up sites. Gotta take it out and zero the red dot. I feel for my arm I would feel more comfortable with a longer stock, so I might add some spacers to the butt pad. It's already as long as the M16 style buttstock but that weird grip makes it feel well wierd.

I didn't like that small red dot so I put on a click switch C-More, 6 MOA or 8 MOA dot, I can't really tell. I just co-witnessed it with the irons and it was good to go.

Hell yeah, so much better than the itty bitty dot. Video shows how slow it is to get the first shot off from a slung rifle, starting hands-off. My forehand grip is different each time, and not my "proper" grip I use when starting hands-on. Slower than drawing a holstered pistol.

Video also includes some FrankenFAL. I haven't shot it in forever and wasn't used to the recoil. And my proper AR grip puts my thumb in the way of the low iron sights, so it requires its own special grip. I also can't focus on the front sight now so I guess I should look into an optic, either a dot or move my 3 gun LPVO to it. But I'm a semi-purist and can't stand to do that to even a FrankenFAL.
