Got there fairly early on Saturday and the place was already wall to wall campers, toy haulers, motorhomes, pickups and trailers. Every parking area was seemingly full, even the parking lot that is a couple miles just outside of Stonyford. Weather was terrific, low 70’s and virtually no dust and tacky traction. Lots of people in the parking lot or “pit area” but not that many up on the trails. Perfecto, .....but that area could use some more rain! :afm199

Got there Friday about 3pm. Lucky to score a good spot. Then proceeded to watch groups of 2,3,4 rigs pour in the rest of the night. Many headed into Davis Flats, then circled other areas because Davis Flats was packed.
Weather was perfect. Dirt was tacky. Made for good riding. In January...

I thought about heading over to meet some folks at Davis Flats for the weekend... but then thought better of it due to the holiday wknd. I'm becoming a grumpy old hermit and don't like the crowds. Davis Flats can turn into into a scene from Mad Max on busy weekends. Get off my lawn! :laughing

I'm only in my 30s and I already feel that way lol. My wife and I both have weekdays off so usually we can avoid crowds

I headed south rode some of the mojave road on electric dirt bike and it was awesome. Seen like a handful or two of people out here in Afton Canyon. Got to do some hard enduro rock garden action and rode in a slot canyon or two =)

No, but not surprising. We came across two UTV on trail 6. Pretty.lame. Need more single track, looked like some was being ridden in, in a few areas but didn't stop to investigate. ATV and UTV seem to trying to use a number of what passes for single track at Stony. Frustrating.

That's bad news, hard enough to come into another rider going the other way but a UTV!? Hopefully that's just holiday weekend madness as I've never seen a rig like that up in those trails (and hope never to).

Subi's are pretty impressive what they can get through but I doubt it woulda' got up 30...if they had got that far up 38 my hat would be off to them!
