We are instituting the P-Trap.

We have been asking to NOT post political content in other forums besides the Pol Sink and it has continued to happen so besides saying please we are going to address it.

This thread will be the keeper of posts that are deemed political content.

Here is how it works.

Political content will be removed and then quoted/ posted here.
When a post is reported and 3 mods agree it is political then the action taken.

You will receive 3 warnings. On the fourth you will receive a one week suspension.

Post Political content again and you will receive another week.

I am not going to use our normal tier for this.

The goal is to adjust some behavior and hopefully set a precedent on what is considered suspendable. This thread will be your examples so to speak.

Users may also report posts.

Actions will follow per the above.

Certain subjects are going to inspire people to post politically.
There is no way around that I am afraid :nchantr

If you wish to join the Pol Sink you can do that HERE

This thread will remain closed.

Davis was recalled for many, many poor spending and management decisions which caused huge deficits when state revenues dropped. I won't go into partisan political discussion because there are no winners and no innocent parties from that mess - and BARF has rules about partisan political discussion outside the Politics forum.

IIRC, the bill to deregulate the electricity market in California was signed into law before Davis was elected Governor. When Enron and others manipulated the electricity market causing rolling brownouts and vast economic harm, Davis didn't manage the crisis well and it was another nail in the coffin of his abbreviated term as Governor.

BTW, there are no constitutional offices or state legislative offices up in this November's elections which are mostly municipal. Constitutional officers and state legislative elections are held in even numbered years (outside of rare special elections for legislators).

Name removed for Political Content

And then Gavin defends PG&E, saying it's necessary to prevent brush fires. Nevermind that PG&E has failed for years to maintain their shit.

I feel for y'all up north who have to deal with this. We are supposed to be getting these winds down south starting today. We'll see if they're as bad as they say they'll be. So far, a mouse could fart harder.

Someone gave me this:
It turns out the power shutdowns is actually California Government mandated power outages. (AB1054 was fast tracked through the Senate after the disastrous fires in California and the power outages are part of the legislation.)

Do you really think all three power companies up and down the State want to reduce their revenue stream by shutting everyone's power off?

...blame your California Government for this newest debacle.
Be kind to your fellow man. Don't take your anger out on the employees of these companies for having a poorly thought out law to follow.

Read the text of the bill:

By Butch.. it was deleted before I got to it.

Posted in General. The thread has been moved to the Pol Sink

https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/16/poli...L1DaJ_DcKJWYzVxtiZQx0MNpANpkXJqfgGlotfrojOTyI

The grieving parents of a British teenager have described a highly choreographed White House encounter at which President Donald Trump presented them with an unexpected offer to meet the woman involved in the crash that killed their son.
The family says that Trump surprised them with the "bombshell" news that Anne Sacoolas, the wife of a US diplomat stationed in the UK, was in an adjoining room. Photographers were waiting in the wings, said a family spokesman, who described the encounter an ambush.
UK police said Sacoolas claimed diplomatic immunity in the aftermath of the crash that killed Harry Dunn, 19, and left the country three weeks later. Through her attorney, she apologized for a "tragic mistake." Police say their investigation is not yet complete.

Dunn died in on August 27 outside a base controlled by the US Air Force in central England after his motorbike was struck by a car driven on the wrong side of the road by Sacoolas.

They've been raised in an outrage environment, much like people raised in households where Fox News was run 24/7 creating people who were outraged by the harm that Liberals and Hillary have inflicted on this nation.

I think that the constant raising of outrage among these populations is a very unhealthy state to be kept in. Some people get addicted to the state of being outraged, others get burned out on it and stop giving a shit altogether.
