In the end, I rode 4086 miles, 7 states and 2 Canadian provinces and spent just under 1000 dollars(excluding bike costs like tires and oil but including gas, chain lube and everything after leaving home). Had a blast and can't wait for the next ride.

The WeeStrom preformed flawlessly. Cold mornings in Canada, 10,000 foot elevation on Beartooth pass, 80 mile an hour highways in Montana and Wyoming, 10hr 661 mile day across Nevada, etc. Never took longer than normal to start, didn't burn a drop of oil, not a single mechanical issue, nothing higher than 88 octane gas(87 when available). What a great bike!!!

Nice Journey and write up.
Thanks for taking the time to share.

I did a very similar trip about 10 years ago but didn't cross the border... on a Vstrom 1000. 8 days, 7 states and 5 national parks.
Did a nice photo write up on it to (on Pashnit, now gone).

If you moved the bike up forward 10-15 feet, looks like you'd be in the middle of Nowhere, rather than a bit to the left.

Had lunch at a BBQ place in Fallen. Turned out the owner is one of the vendors at the Buffalo Chip at Sturgis. He had some good stories and was a nice guy. I recommend the place.
I assume to mean Fallon, NV?

Anyway, my ass management worked. I felt great at Reno and rode all the way home. 661 miles and was at In and Out Burger at 6pm. Had a burger and headed home. Was a great trip!! I dreaded crossing Nevada from the start but I left early to beat the heat and actually really enjoyed it.

It's desert. If you like desert, it can be fun.

Sounds like a great trip. Similar to one I did in my truck almost 30 years ago.

Just after taking that pic I got on and almost dropped the bike about 10 feet forward in the gravel. Had the same thought. Woulda sucked to drop the bike in the middle of nowhere!_

50 across Nevada is fantastic. North of 50 has got to be one of the most desolate places in this country - I'd love to get back there some time.

Great hot springs in Nevada, too.

I'm a little late, but just read this report and it was awesome! For some reason based on the thread title I thought it was just a day trip. But then you were in Lassen and headed North, then Crater Lake and headed North again, then in Washington and still headed North and I was like damn, he's gettin' some miles in!
