Weaverville HoHo Outlaw Mendo Grand Tour, 2020

So you're saying you think I'd ride better whilst wearing a kilt [EDIT] and listening to bagpipes & drums, rather than Led Zepplin? SAD!!! :teeth :laughing

don't make me start posting Mr Springsteen videos ... :x

CA-Cincinnatus turned me onto this thread and he's talked quite a bit about this ride... hopefully there are plans for a ride to these parts in the coming year. I want in!

:thumbup

here's a good thing for us to shoot for:
StonyBARF Thirteen April 15-18, 2021 is ON!

easy group campground to get to, and we could make a test run up to Anthony Peak ... test out our cast iron frying pans, etc. :laughing

@89fj, pretty sure you could get a wee up to Anthony Peak ... :party

when I do a Mendo Grand Tour it's always been in conjunction with two wheel tramp's HoHo Weaverville Rally, so that means I'm up on Anthony Peak on the Wednesday before, which is maybe hard for some folks to swing.

have talked oobus and HeatXfer to join me in years gone by. oobus just met me up there, and HeatXfer and I had our SPOT devices and met in Stonyford and rode up from there.

anyway, all are welcome, if it works out in 2021 ... the Weaverville Rally has traditionally been in July/August ... :ride

another fun ride to watch out for is the Cedarville Rally which got cancelled in 2020 ...

:blah

It will be interesting to see how many of the roads/trails will be open in the early season next year John. I've been up M4 and across Log Springs back to 135 and Doe Peak. Went up the North side of Paskenta to the snow line and also a lot of burnt areas. There will be a ton of downed trees this winter.
That being said, up until a week ago, I'll wager you could make it to Covelo on M4. Seems they keep this road open.

I'll do my best to join you and I would love to spend the night there and then at Ides Cove the next night. I've still got the pack fly rod that was intententially bought to use at Square Lake....
