Tire recommendations?

Hello, I just got my Supermoto rims two weeks ago and I still haven’t gotten the time to order some tires. I have an Xr650r and I was wondering what tires do you guys like to run on your supermotos for street and occasional weekend twisties? I was leaning towards a pilot power 2ct since I ran them before on my cbr. Any feedbacks and suggestions are appreciated. I’m looking for 150/60/17 rear. Thank you!

I have the pp rs tires on my 701, and it's a good tire but the life is less than desirable for me. There aren't a lot of twisty roads around me tho. I bought some pp road 5s for three tx300 but i haven't gotten around to mounting them yet. My understanding is the 2ct tire falls somewhere between the two tires i have in regards to life and traction and is probably a good first tire to try if you're hitting the twisties on the weekends and commuting during the week. Id probably go straight to the RS if twisties is all the bike sees. GL

You should check out the Continental ContiAttack SM tires. I like them a lot, but they are a bit pricey.

I'm currently running a weird setup and it's been working fine. Wet grip was pretty good over the weekend.

I want to try the PP RS next.
Did you try out the ContiAttacks on the 701? If so, which tires do you like more for canyons? The PP RS or ContiAttack?

The Contiattack sm evos are 180$ a rear it’s a bit pricey I bet they are wonderful tires haha. I saw some videos and they said it’s already scrubbed in and they heat up real quick. Thanks for your suggestion!

The pprs are nice tires, I was thinking exactly as you suggested as the 2ct are more of a weekend warrior commuter tire. I wonder how the q3+ feel and fit. I heard a lot of people say the q3’s has clearance issues since it’s so phaaaaaat

It's not my fault...
I've been running Michelin power RS for the past couple years. Great tires on the 701. I like the Conti Attack SM but when they go south (2,000 miles) they're sketchy AF

I am running Metzeler RR M7 on the 701. I like them a lot. Feels as grippy as ContiAttach SM tires that came with the bike, but better grip in the wet. I also like that the the Metzeler have a stiffer sidewall than the Conti.

I’m going to check them out next. I placed an order on some pilot powers Friday. Thanks for the recommendation. I never ran metzeler before and first time running Michelin too on bikes.
