Definately looking forward to SX.

Last season was an odd one, but what was not odd in the year of the Rona.

So kicking this off with Honda

Announcing their team. The 250 class riders are now back in the HRC fold.

Only one American in the 4 sets.. and two have the same last name. :cool

Duuuuuuuuuuude, I can't wait! There are so many stories to follow this year AND some incredibly fast, young, and talented riders who could really shake up the 450 class.

Its also an incredibly sad year, the loss of JGR AND Geico Honda. Losing Geico Honda is the equivalent of Pro Circuit Kawasaki shutting down. Flabbergasted.

Maybe this could be a team by team discussion? I won't bring up the other teams and riders until you lead.

Roczen and Sexton on the 450's. BTW, I think the new 2021 CRF450R's are the best looking bikes in the paddock. Drop dead sexy.

Will Roczen regain his form or is this the down side of his career? He is SO young it should be the upside, but recovering from his injuries and illnesses?

I will be the first to admit I was stumped when Honda moved up Sexton to the 450's so soon AND thought his 250 Title was given to him due to Forkners injuries. That said, he proved me wrong outdoors.... guess the folks at Honda know more than me. :laughing He is going to be a solid top 5 guy, probably podium, and even challenge for some wins this year. His classic perfect text book technical style reminds me of Dungey, only smoother. He is the perfect Honda type cast rider for PR. Kid is growing on me and he trains with AC and Roczen. Those have to be some seriously hot laps they do in training with that trio.

The Lawrence's on 250's. I get Jett, probably one of, if not the best young 250 prospect in world, US or MXGP. This kid is legit. Honda must have wanted him so bad they had to take his brother Hunter. Hunter is no slouch, but a better long term prospect than Shimoda or a few others? My magic eight ball says there was some serious negotiating going on and it was a package deal if Honda wanted to keep Jett.

Best team PR Photo for 2021? Oh I LOVE, love this Gas Gas photo of Bam Bam! Our own NorCal rider Michael Mosiman and Utah's Pierce Brown. Wrap it up in TLD gear, I'm a fan.

That is a good pic!! :thumbup

Gas Gas...!

I had no idea.

I started watching 2020 a few days ago. Finished Oaklan last night. Just the 450 mains. Still love the triple headers and forgot the Roczen swept one.

We are getting closer... even have the official schedule announced after some Covid related changes. But back to preseason bench racing.

There are lots of changes this season and some huge team names gone. An interesting storyline to follow this year will be Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha. Not only is team owner Bobby Regan a real character, he isn't afraid to ruffle some long time industry insiders feathers...

His 250 team is on the way to becoming a dominant team of the era, much like Pro Circuit. There was a lot of drama surrounding a VERY highly recruited rookie Nate Thrasher.... some folks even claimed "questionable" tactics. :laughing Bottom line, he is going pro to Star Racing and his acquisition by the team was responsible for Bam Bam Barcia going over under the Austrian tent on the Gas Gas team after a lot of back room dealing. :wow

Christian Craig also joined Star racing and made the announcement before his former team Geico Honda, folded. Well his father inlaw is or was one of the primary owners of the Geico Honda Team... so there was probably some insider information being traded on. :teeth

Joining Craig will be Jeremy Martin, who will be hard to not count as one of if not the title favorite outdoors, maybe even indoors. Hopefully Justin Cooper can return to his 2019 form and also challenge again along with returning rider Colt Nichols. Need to read up on Nick Frye, know little about him.

Also have no idea why Ty Masterpool isn't on the squad this year. He was kid out front late in the season doing fist pumps after his holeshot. Regardless, this is going to be a brash, fast, and dangerous 250 squad.

Star is taking over the 450 effort from the Factory. Will Bobby Regan's team and program be able to turn around the YZ450F's performance in the US at the professional level? Its a highly touted bikes in all the shootouts... but lacked results with JGR and even the factory effort the past couple of years. Under a much more relaxed set of rules in MXGP, it has been successful. Will be interesting to watch.

Returning is Plesinger in what surely must be his make or break season as 450 rider. Malcolm Stewart is also on the team this year, along with Budman's favorite Frenchman Dylan Ferrandis making his 450 debut. :laughing :twofinger

While he may not be Budmans favorit on track rider, I'm a HUGE fan of not only his speed, and technique... but pure aggression on the bike. Its like his parents were Jean Michele Bayle and Bob Hannah. Incredible talent and skill with a no fucks given attitude. :thumbup Broke his hand in early December, but still looking forward to see where he fits in to a historically talented 450 field.

Star racing Yamaha will be one of just a few great story lines to follow this year.

I love Fernandezeroni... :twofinger :laughing
Bayle and Hannah :rofl :thumbup

Stoked to see Malcolm on the team. He showed some serious speed last year. Agreed on Plesinger... do or don't time.

Thanks for the heads up posts on the shuffles and all.

Good stuff.

It's almost THAT time. Racing starts this Saturday 1/16! Reminder for folks that havent followed that closely, racing will be happening multiple times each week (Tuesdays and Saturdays) AND if you stream it like me, it's on the Peacocktv.com this year, not NBCSN Gold (different platform.) Actually turns out to be a bit cheaper too. :thumbup If you have cable, it will be NBCSN.

2021 Supercross schedule here on RacerX.

All the regulars will be back with the exception of Baggett. Rumors but no real information as to why. Most plausible is a contract dispute between him and the satellite KTM team as he was contracted through the 2021 season. Rumors on forums of possible unpaid money from 2020... but no real news from either parties. :dunno Joey Savatgy in his seat now with the team.

This season's 450 class is potentially the strongest and deepest in recent memory. In addition Tomac, Roczen, and Webb, I think we can add Osborne and a returning Musquin as title contenders. Say nothing of sophmore Adam "AC" Cianciarulo. Bam Bam should provide entertainment on his Gas Gas and maybe even some challenges for wins.

I'm really looking forward to seeing rookie Chase Sexton. Physically big and strong like Rick Johnson or Jeff Stanton.... but way smoother.... Dungey like. Showed front of the pack speed outdoors this summer on occasion surprising the heck out of me. And.... AND he is being coached by James Stewart. Yep, Stewart is back out in public!

Just as exciting is going to be Dylan Ferrandis to see where he fits in. I expect top five.... really like his aggressive style.

Just my opinions, lots more stories to follow.
