Hi,

I'm trying to figure out what shock I can use to replace stock one, some people are saying ohlins from daytona for same years should fit street triple r models, but was hoping to get more information before buying one. 250lb rider, commute + weekend fun.

Also, was considering to respring and re-valve stock R shock.

What option would suspension guys suggest:
- get a different shock - if so, which one would fit? is there a way to figure out if shock going to fit besides obvious notes (which I wasn't able to find either)?
- repsring and re-valve stock shock?

Thanks!

I recommend Wilbers. They will custom build you a quality shock for $600. you may be able to order direct, but the dealers are out there. Best mod to my FZ1 ever. And about half the cost of the yellow or blue brands.

They suggest a rebuild every 2-3 years depending on use so keep the stock shock and send that one off to race tech for reworking. At #250 you are asking a lot getting sporty. I’m about that fully geared up and have destroyed an aftermarket shock in a short few years.

I recently did the Daytona 675R shock swap with another BARFer who had a Street Triple R. It bolted right on perfectly and performed really well. It's a really common and sought-after upgrade in the Street Triple community and everybody loves the feel and adjustability, but I think the looks for them are what actually drive the purchase decision.

Thanks for suggestions, both options are in same price range though, but for ohlins I might have to do a full service (if buy it used).
