I just found out that several BARFers have Cadillacs. And it was suggested to me to start a thread.

So here's mine:

2011 CTS Performance with 304HP 3.7 V6. Summer Tire Option (19 inch wheels), and some other stuff I forget. Also did muffler delete and running K&N air filter. Have a shift light, since I typically use the paddle shifters and the V6 spins up too quick to use the tach in 1st and 2nd.

2011 CTSV

OK.. I will play.

V8 Gas guzzling 6 speed.
556HP of Supercharged giddy up.
Corsa Exhaust / High flow air filter thing and upgraded belts (anything more would mean smog would be an issue)
Blacked out grills and chrome bits
Powder coated black wheels.
Thanks to FLO3RIDER I found out that it is one of 504 manual transmissions made in 2011. (Total 3,224)

A GM wrench told me that Chevrolet got pissed at the parent company because they put more HP in it than America's car.. The Corvette ZO6. He was the first one to tell me this car will be unique forever.. don't sell it. I listened. :teeth

Dig the car. Have from the git go. It rips pretty good for a business car.

First pic is from Thunderhill. Left a 1.26 G on the little G device (which is cool). I think that is more than they say it is capable off. You can see the right front has little rubber on the road.
(BARF Graphics photoshopped by Kazman).

Second pic.
One of my first outtings. Sparkly just outside Pescadero. First time I hit a buck forty. :shhh

Last pic.
The CTSV with the '08 Vette I bought 3 or so years ago. It helps keep some miles of the clock (Now at 75K) and is an interesting comparison to the Caddy.
505 HP vs 585 HP but much lighter. Feels faster and corners a bit better. The big black bootie of the caddy is noticable.

The traction control is amazing in the CTSV. It works well in the Vette but is not as amazing. Turning it off on either cars takes life out of the tires quickly. :laughing

Love it though..!! Light 'em up to live!

Planning on a full paint next year assuming the Rona does not break me.
Will do the wheels again too. One day rebuild the motor as I plan on keeping it until I can no longer drive.

Want!!!!

I learned the trick to turn off traction control on my car (hold down the button for 10 seconds). Holy shit! Even with the 304 HP six, I was frying my back tires. There's also (as you know) "Competitive Track Mode" - that's another undocumented one. Double click the traction button. Once I asked someone if they knew you could steer with the gas pedal. They said "no."

Then I showed them, lol.

+1 on the stability control, BTW. You can feel it make fine adjustments.

Rolls with it...
I'll have one, someday, but really more of a "short term rental"...

I wanna go out like Elvis... no, not on the crapper, but in a long white Cadillac!:thumbup

Although the CT4-V Blackwing would be cool...

Yup. I got a little out of shape over the Cyclone and felt my wheels do something and get me back under control. The double click adjusts the steering input too.
Much more deliberate.

Not going to take it back to the track. Fried my brakes. :(

A $200 dollar track day turned into $1200. :facepalm

The car just weighs too much as does my foot. :p

Yes - noticed that with my steering too. Makes it faster and more sensitive, but also harder to move the wheel. Re: brakes, not sure about your car - but my friend has a SS Camaro and I was reading her owner's manual. It says for track day there's a part you have to remove from the brakes. I think it's a rain guard or something. I know our cars have those big vents in the front, but I am wondering if that might have been it?

I still have the mismatched tires that were on the car when I bought it. They are the right size, but two different brands front and rear. So the stability control has all sorts of fun on fast sweepers. I can literally feel it trying to compensate.

My old Dart was set up for road racing, had anti-sway bars, fat radials, racing springs, urethane bushings, etc. . . Once it set up in a corner - it would just kind of stay there - then you steer with right foot. This car "hunts" - and I am pretty sure it's because the tires aren't giving the stability control what it expects somehow.

won’t do it. Saving $ for a different beast in 2022

Recedite, plebes!

Based on the article above it appears Cadillac maybe (?) replacing the "V" Series with the "Blackwing" nomenclature. Although, the Blackwing is a totally, new, unique engine. Cadillac's first twin-turbo, DOHC, 32V, 4.2-liter V-8 introduced in the 2019, CT6 and only available for the 2019 and 2020 models. Two configurations: A regular-output version making 500 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque available in the Platinum edition.
The CT6-V has the high-output variant making 550 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. Too bad they never put a manual in these cars.

I think it is probably the production costs for these trick "Blackwing" motors at $20K+ that influenced them to go back to the 6.2L LS supercharged motors. The Blackwing motor is also a bit taller and wider than the LS and doesn't fit in the CT5 chassis.

I also think that the CT6 series will become Cadillac's new high end, Hybrid and/or EV series.

The third generation CTS-V could be obtained with the LT4 engine. 640 HP.

I remember reading somewhere that their market research was showing that typical customers were not wanting that much power. I was talking to a local woman here and she said her husband wanted one but it was scary when she drove it. So they compromised and got a Jag.
