Open track days

Does anyone still do open format track days? All the TDPs have their three group sessions but it wasn’t uncommon to find people renting the track as a group and running an open format. I’m out of the loop these days but does anyone still do that?

I’d do it in theory, but realistically, all you could get would be thunderhill on a weekday, and I probably don’t want it enough to take a day off work when I could go ride a regular track day on a weekend.

Yeah, I've been doing 2 or 3 per year for the past few years, usually Thunderhill or Buttonwillow. Way more bang for the buck than a normal track day.

Big B on here usually sets up one or two per year, mainly a core group + friends thing, capped at 45-50 riders. We also do one or two through the moto email list where I work (big local tech company).
