Off-Road Rider Rights, CA ABATE

Seriously Disturbed Calm
Hey all,

I will admit up front that I am not an off-roader, but I do take rider rights of all riders very, very seriously.

I am an AMA Member, MRF member and a CA ABATE member. My luck in working the the national rights organizations has not been too good. Simply put they are too busy for some things and that is understandable. So, I joined ABATE of CA in order to talk to somebody more local. I have not been disappointed.

ABATE of CA has some very dedicated off-road riders that have not been happy with the way things have been going in CA so they just recently formed an Off Road Division.

I know that a lot of people get a funny feeling when ABATE is mentioned. ABATE understand that it has a branding from the past to overcome and is working on that.

In any case, I wanted to pass along the new division for off-road at ABATE. Something to think about, this is a brand new division at ABATE, enough people getting involved at the beginning can set the pace for the division to do the best it can for all off-road riders in CA...

A simple question, who can look out for CA off-road riders better than CA off-road riders.

The ABATE website is www.ABATE.org, the off-road link is at the right of the page and at the bottom of the page are the email addresses for two very good people who do want to help, it can't hurt to contact them, any choice is always your own.

For many of you in the bay area, off-road rights may not seem a real high priority, but understand that ALL of us have one common passion, that is to ride, whether on-road or off-road. All of us need to band together and protect our rights to ride. For those that have not looked at ABATE's new off-road division, you should, for those of you that off-road, it is imperative that you join. We are off to a great start, we need you help to keep it going. Questions? email me nick@abate.org
