What's up people :) I'm a new rider for the most part. But I would like to think that I pick up things relatively fast. I have had dirt bikes quads and mopeds all my life but new to having a street bike. Got a used 04 sv650 from my friend last summer and have out 6k miles on if so far. Absolutely love riding. But realizing I don't really care to go super fast. I just like screwing around on it. I'll go to parking lots and country roads and practice wheelies and skidding around. But that's about as far, as I'll take my bike right now cause I don't have a drop cage yet. I really want to be able to push it further to the balance point but I need to be more confident that I'm not gonna totally smash my bike. I don't mind smashing it. But I wanna be able to fix it same day and ride it again.

So That's the next thing for me to do. pick up a cage and then I wanna play with drifting etc too.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself here and that I live in San Mateo area. If anyone is experienced in this type of riding and has any cages for sale or suggestions it would be much appreciated.

I have been looking into the same thing here as well. Would love to get a 636 and learn to stunt it. I have looked at the sick innovations crash cages and they seem well done. I keep an eye out for empty country road for some goofing off as well.

I don't know if the 636 is the preferred bike but seems to have enough aftermarket available. Even the ninja 650 might be a good bike, being a twin and the torque would be good for on demand power. I think any of the 600's would work, just brand preference I think.

FYI, your SV is a notoriously bad bike to wheelie. Something about the front cylinder getting starved of oil if you have the front lofted for too long. Wouldn't know from experience but I have seen some horror stories online.

Wish I had enough money to buy a bike to trash on in the parking lot. Be safe out there!
