New to BARF

Hi all,

I'm a San Francisco resident with a slightly banged-up but mechanically excellent Yamaha FZ6R that is up for sale. I used to use it once per week to go to San Jose, but now with the shutdown I find myself with few destinations and no good reason to own a vehicle. I still plan to rent bikes occasionally and will probably be back in the market in a year or so.

I have enjoyed the discussions and advice on this forum so far, and look forward to continuing to read and possibly contribute to them.

Sold the FZ6R yesterday. It was a great first bike, but it just never fit me right. I rented an R1200 GS a few weeks ago and really appreciated the extra legroom and ergonomics. When I'm back in the market in another year or two I'll probably look for an old GS or similar. Until then, I have a bunch of Eaglerider credits stocked up for whenever the riding itch takes hold!

Renting bikes on Eaglerider wasn’t cutting it for me, so I bought an MV Agusta Turismo Veloce that quickly got clobbered in a rear-end collision at a red light by a distracted driver before I could even give it a proper ride. I got up and walked away, but the bike was not so lucky.

My sorrow was short-lived because I found a Ducati Multistrada to replace it. I’m still getting to know the bike and the thought of 150 HP scares me, to be honest, but I love the looks, riding position, comfort, handling, and other amenities. Unless I find a steal on a good electric bike or newer MTS, this will probably be my steed for the foreseeable future.
