Looking to swap the doohickey on my KLR

Hey all!

I recently got a 2005 KLR650 with only 7500 miles and couldn't be more excited about it!

The previous owner kept it pretty much fully stock, and I'm planning on getting it adventure ready which means replacing the doohickey is an absolute must.

Does anyone have experience with replacing the doohickey and would be willing to help make sure I don't make a mistake while doing it? I can bring it wherever is convenient for you

Rather than replace the doohickey, replace those tires. They are likely as old as the bike and way past their useful life.

And enjoy your new ride!

Before the doohickey and tires he needs to find a milk crate for behind the seat.
Priorities, yo.

Enjoy your new adventures. Nice bike. :thumbup

And have a look at the tire date codes.

Dude, it's a KLR- little bit of electrical tape on naked rims & it'll run just fine..:teeth
I'd help ya with the dohickey, but after doing a few swaps I passed the tools on to others in need a few years ago.

Second for the Eagle Mike kit. Also check your fasteners on that bike. May even want to get the tools and learn how to safety wire. Loctite is your friend. They rattle apart....
