Key Character for Average in Excel?

Anyone know the symbol key character for average in Excel?

I'm looking for the X with the - on top.

The google searched suggest solutions keeps coming up as F7C2 which returns the divide symbol which isn't it.

I can't get the keyboard number code to return correct symbol. Your best bet is to just select & copy from the character map:

Its like Where's Waldo in there. Was getting bug eyed looking for it.

there is no key code for it

it's symbol F7C2 or character code 0305

for reference it's called "X Bar"

a cheat is to use Alt + 0181 and insert a population mean sign

Actually here's an easy way to do it

File, Options, Proofing, AutoCorrect Options, replace math Autocorrect and "replace" x\bar "with" x̅

then you just have to type in x\bar and it will autocorrect it

\bar is already in the list
