Increase front ride height ? GSXR

I'm like to increase the ride height of a 06'GSXR 750 fork by 1-1.5inch. Any way of doing this in a cost effective manner ?

Its used on a project bike that's original forks are 2inch longer so handling is a little quick (rear is also jacked up. I've dropped the forks in the yokes as much as possible. A stepped yoke is too much $$$.

I think fork extender caps are your only option. I'm in the same boat right now. I think without caps, running the front end flush with the top triple and rear around 322-323mm eye to eye is about as high as the bike can get (from my reading).

Edit: fixed shock length numbers

40mm's is alot. Most do maybe 20mm.
Even at this you will need custom brake lines to fit an extended fork.
We have the fork extenders for an OEM fork or you can completely upgrade and get a set of GP Suspension 25mm carts.
We can help set up your entire chassis.

If I remember correctly, the M4 guys back in the day (06/07 GSXR 600/750) machined the bottom "step" from the top triple to gain a few more mm. Cost effective way of gaining some more adjust ability. :thumbup

There's no way to get 1.5 inches. You can pull the forks and cut the internal rebound spring down to lengthen them slightly ( maybe 1/4" ). However this places the end of the fork tube (inner) onto the bushing at maximum extension. You really want to be careful with that. You can get 1/2" to 3/4" with a fork extender cap. That's about it. And I suggest you shorten the shock at this point. Making it longer is just going to put yet more weight on the front end.

forks can be run recessed in the top triple. i ran 5mm recessed for a while.

aftermarket cartridges can be built longer. some Ohlins are ez, u just remove/change two spacers. others are more difficult.

Just stumbling across this thread, i'm assuming OP meant "shorter" by 1-1.5". Which means they are most likely gsx-r1000 forks. I swapped in some Ohlins kit forks for a 1000 and made custom caps that were around 2" longer so I could get the right ride height out of the setup. Nothing off the shelf, swapping things on project bikes often needs $pecial parts.

I ended up using the 25mm fork caps, though I need more testing to make my mid up. Definitely slowed the steering down. I have sourced a stepped top yoke but am unsure if that'll be too much of a lift.

My cables etc will still fit as I can reuse the original lines (love Suzuki interchangeability)

Bike I'm tweaking:
