Does anyone know what I can do about all these damn pinholes...

I couldn't get them out of the high build, I sanded down to the acid etch, re-primered and they came back. I figure I could put my base over them, but I was wrong.

What is the best way to take the decals off?

thanks

Hair dryer - warm up the decal and it will loosen the adhesive. Old credit card to scrape. Goo gone for a final wipe.

Of course if the clear coat covers the decal you're hosed :teeth

Wow, this is a really f'ing nice write-up. The day I get enough sack to paint my bike, I'm going to use this method. Thanks dude.

Since MEK is no longer sold in California, what can be used as an alternative to fix cracks in abs?

just stopped in for a minute, here.
if you 'fillet' the crack, smiths epoxy products should work.
west marine also make a thickener powder for their epoxy system.
fillet, wipe clean with acetone, epoxy, and sand to profile should work.

MEK is readily available in CA.

Yeesh, this is involved. But am guessing that the money saved on getting a local shop to do the plastics on my F650GS makes the time worth it. Noted and will give it a shot when I work up the courage to ruin my bike... sniff!

holy thread resurrection... ordering paint for the R1, is there anywhere online or SF bay area that will fill with Dupont? Looking for a recommendation on a respirator that I can order via Amazon

Great thread, probably my 5th time all the way through it
