Hello All

[KLRGuy]

Not a newbie, just haven't been active for a while. The main reason is the bike I owned. A 1995 KLR650.
I'm currently in Clearlake, CA. Been here since 2011. When I moved here the KLR had ~86,000 miles on it. It had some other problems as well, one could not ride it for more than 50 miles without overheating it.
Didn't know one else to ride with as I didn't want to ride alone.
Also, I've gotten to the point to where when I went down, I alone could no longer pick it up.
I'm 70 BTW.
9 years later I broke down and sold it, with 88,000+ miles.
Went out and bought a DRZ400S, 2020.
Still in the break-in period. Currently have 225 miles. Need 500 and a service to be able to 'crank it'.
Once I hit 500 miles and a service, I plan on getting serious again.
I've got experience, and all the personal gear.
What I'm looking for now is a group to ride with.
Anyone here in Lake Co know of such?

I’m right behind you on the birthday trail, and have a lot of trouble picking my KLR these days ... :laughing

maybe there’s a DRZ in my future ... started my dual-sport career on a DR 350.

We’re hoping to do another Fouts Spring group camping trip in the fall, but have not picked a date yet.

Had a KLR like the one you posted, loved that color scheme ... :toothless
that’s an old ad, I guess, did the bike find a good home?

Newbie to BARF but not to motorcycles. Nice bike!!!! Picked mine up in July. 500 miles now. Did first service at 250 miles. I'm sure with your experience you are well capable of doing the maintenance but if you are interested in some pointers reach out to me.
