Hawthorne Rally?

I think I'm going to take that weekend to go out to my friend's place in Utah, so I'll probably miss it.

However, here's a track of some stuff I did a few years ago that goes straight through Hawthorne. Most of it should be no problemo on the KLR. Watchout for the last bit of the pole-line road that appears as a straight line to the west of Hawthorne. It was loose and steep as it climbed out of a gully. Ride the poles, just bail out when you get to the hills. Also, you can see that we detoured to the top of a Mt just west of Hawthorne... The west side of that road was a handful on the loaded KTM. The east side was a well graded road. Also, there's a nice little place to camp just east of the CA/NV border. It's where the track double's back a tiny bit.

If you want the tracks and routes, I can dig them up. But what you see in the link is all I have for that area.

Bump for some saturday dirt. Anyone want to ride the sweetwater mtns with me?

I may be in. I still have to come home from the east coast, figure out some lodging, change the oil on my bike, negotiate a trade- day at work, dig up my front yard with a backhoe, build a small wall and work a few days between all that.

Totally do-able, but I can't commit until the end of the week.

Oh, and if I'm in, I'll be riding out Friday morning, looking to put in as much dirt as possible over the Sierras. Likewise for the route home.
