Finally!!

Hey everyone,
I am new to this forum. I've been riding on the street since I earned my permit at 15 1/2 . My starter bike was a Honda CB-1 400 back in the 80s! So now that I've dated myself with that tidbit of info..I have since owned a Suzuki 600, then upgraded to (and still own) my 2001 Kawasaki ZX9. I went a little dormant on riding when I was broadsided by an 80 year old man who ran a stop sign on my way to work. I fixed my bike back up.. it took a while for my femur to heal...and a few months after that...I moved up here. I found it hard to ride here because my dad was my go-to riding buddy and he and my mom moved to Arkansas. Riding alone all the time isn't as fun for me. My ZX9 is getting old and so out of the blue, an opportunity presented itself and I found myself buying a bike I've wanted since 2005!! I am now the proud owner of my 2014 Kawasaki ZX10R!! It would be nice to find some people to ride with. It's been a while but feels good to be back out on a bike. 😁 My name is Gina. I named my new(to me) bike Lillith. It fits. Ha! This bike only has 7,619 miles on it(19 of that was me riding it home) and well maintained!! So I hope to find a few cool people to ride with here. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk hahaha

One of the funniest stories of a guy riding a little too fast (and knowing it) is about a ZX10R. Pretty much every paragraph ends in him telling a buddy, "...because it's a ZX10R, bitch!" Obviously this was written well before #MeToo and it hasn't nothing to do with disrespecting women--still funny as heck. I need to try to dig it up for you.

Welcome to the forum, Gina (& Lillith)!

Welcome! But be careful what you wish for...lotta :leghump 'round here. Jus sayin...:laughing To clarify...By "up here", do you mean the SF Bay Area? I ask because your profile says your location is Gilroy.

Welcome Gina Lilith. Most of the group rides are rather stealthy these days, you may have to start your own. When you visit the parents have dad take you riding in the Ozark National Forest and Buffalo River area. Congratulations on the recovery and dream bike.

Oh! Haha sorry, yes..I still say "up here" because I moved here from the Pismo beach area 3 hours south of me. So yes, I am in Gilroy. Thanks for the info, and the welcome!

Well now I'm super curious about this story you're talking about!! Hahaha!! Sounds hilarious! I'm not someone who gets offended super easily. I have all brothers and my cousins are all guys too..riding for as long as I have, I usually end up being treated like one of the guys 🤷‍♀️ I hope you find that story though..I like to laugh! 😁

Great! Thank you for the advice and also the info about where to ride with my dad! He took all 6 of his motorcycles with him to Arkansas and has also acquired a Razor to run around on his property there...haha I love my dad. :ride:laughing

I had a 2001 ZX9. Great bike. Check out Grouprides.net. Mehran puts on great rides. Or just show up at Alice's and start talking to people. You'll find riding partners.
