female dirt riders

I'm looking for a group of female riders for my teenage daughter to ride dirt with. She's good enough to follow me on the rocky and tight single track and most everywhere I go but when riding with the other teenagers in our immediate group, mostly all boys, she will intentionally sand bag herself and just follow along. I'd like her to get an opportunity to ride with more advanced females so that she'll actually get a chance to improve her riding skills and see that it's ok to be a fast girl on a dirt bike. Without challenging herself, she won't get any better and I'd like it to be more than just dad pushing her through the paces. She's very competitive but never with the boys for some reason when it comes to riding, just with her ol' dad.

I love it that you re looking for an appropriate group to ride with inn order to help her improve her skills. We got lots of women on the forum who ride dirt. They are probably out riding most of the time!
Have fun.

Where were you 10 years ago?
I was in the exact same spot with my daughter. Riding with her older brother fostered more of an environment of sibling rivalry than a supportive educational environment. I rode with her as much as I could (still do) and while she felt more comfortable being towed along by "Dad and his friends" she wasn't really testing herself and growing much as a rider as she correctly assumed we were holding back to protect her.
Nonetheless, she grew in to an extremely competent rider who frequently outrides the guys . It's kinda cute to listen to their condescending comments before a ride as they reassure her that they "will take it easy and stop periodically so she can catch up." Her brother and I just smile, safe in the knowledge that those guys are gonna get roosted bad in the first corner before never seeing her again until they get back to the truck.
Extra style points given when she already has her helmet off and the bike up on the stand.

Look up Curve Unit. I'm not sure they still have a group but it was a women's riding group that does everything from dirt to road racing

Take her HHORA & D36 racing, lots of kids there of various skill levels she can meet and make friends with!

I appreciate all the input. I looked into curve unit website from my work computer and I needed a cold shower when I got home. I'll check their facebook page when I'm off today to see if they've got any dirt activities planned.

The race idea isn't bad but I don't know what the reaction would be if I said, "surprise, go race with the other girls" since I know she'll hem and haw her way out of doing it, citing not enough skill or whatever etc etc even though there will be others at her level doing the same thing. Still like the idea though.

Quirky kid though, she'll bail out and give up riding her new 250 after 15 minutes saying she is tired when the truck is near but...... will truck on like a demon when we are god knows how far away from camp and into a 2-3 hour loop in BFE.
