Difference between Lectron 2T & 4T carb

I found a pretty great deal on a 38mm lectron that was originally for the 250/300 2T ktm. However I'd like to put it on my daughter's 4T KX250F. Is there a difference between the 2T and 4T lectron carb that I couldn't just install it and change out the metering needle???

I can't seem to find legitimate info anywhere on it and Lectron is taking forever to answer.

The key difference between 2T and 4T carbs is the idle mix screw. On 2T it allows air through, so you adjust the amount of air at idle. On 4T it allows fuel through, so you adjust the amount of fuel at idle.

I don’t know why that is or if it matters. I’ve also noticed that 4T carbs seem to always use a return throttle cable and return spring, and 2T carbs just have the spring (pull cable only). Don’t know why that is either.

Don't the 2T carburetors have a different atomizer design that has a wrap around shield where the fuel comes out from the needle and jet. I don't think the 4t carburators have this. I don't know if this will distort fueling for a 4T.
