Coast Road? (Big Sur)

In doing a map recon, I came upon Coast Road in Big Sur. The north end starts right above the Bixby Creek Bridge and the south end connects to Hwy 1 at Andrew Molera State Park.

Have any of you ridden it? Is it big bike friendly? Technical? Is it even open?

Yes, it's big bike friendly. Mostly a graded dirt road. The folks who live there don't like people driving through so keep your eyes open. Not sure if it's currently open.

OK...good to know. Thanks for the heads-up! Any other roads down that way worth considering? I was thinking of doing Coast Rd. then Hwy 1 to Nacimiento-Ferguson then east through Fort Hunter Liggett.

I like to find my way over to Willams Hill BLM and Lockwood-San Ardo Road east of Jolon, after having done N-F Road eastward ...

N/F, Los burros, South Coast Ridge and Cone Peak (n. coast ridge) are all closed as Nov 4 and I can't find any evidence that they've been re-opened, just so you know and I've been checking every few days. https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/lpnf/alerts-notices/?cid=stelprdb5347980

They close it if it gets too wet also. Tried to do it when I was doing the Socal BDR and they closed because it was too muddy. Seeing as we're going to be getting rain they will probably close it.

Odd. I've ridden it in the absolutely dumping down rain.
