Changing tires at track day?

Hi all,

Looks like the rear on my backup bike which I will be taking is a little low.

Can I count on getting my rear changed at the track, or should I try to get that taken care of before heading out? Looks like CT Pirelli will be at the event (PTT this weekend at thunderhill).

My local guy does it for 25$, not sure if trackside is a lot worse?

I have my own tire, as well.

If you buy tires from them they usually mount them for free off the bike, Otherwise prepare to pay for their services. Usually I like to get everything squared away before track because the last thing I want to do in the heat is work on my bike.

I had a friend do a WHOLE ASS top end swap on his GIXXER one weekend at Chuckwalla. It was hot as fuck and he pulled it off. LOL

+1

I'd get everything squared away before going to the track and the all you have to worry about is setting tire pressures and riding.

You can get it done at the track, but odds are you'll miss at least a session - the morning rush is silly

I have my tires changed at the track all the time. If you get it to them early enough you wont miss a session ...but I usually end up missing one...but that's ok cause I always ride the last session of the day...with good tires and nobody on track!:teeth

Not in this HEAT. Buttonwillow was BRUTAL in July.

I was at Sonoma with CT doing tires this past weekend. Their prices were $10 wheels off, $50 per tire with wheels on. Sounds pretty fair to me, their tire prices were much more competitive.
