I'm getting a expired certificate message for this site with my 'puter.
iPad runs.

The message complains about the Certificate Authority (issuer), not the expiration date. Your browser maintains a list of CAs that it knows about, and perhaps it needs an update.

My 2010 mac is running here if I bypass the warnings.
My 2015 mac software does't offer me the same workarounds, everything throws a red flag. There are at least three red flags to work around. I didn't want to go there.

The panel behind, talks about expired certs. front panel, issuer.

Whatever your question is, we'll need relevant details. :)

But my first impression is that you should be running current software.

Strange that it balks at wildcard cert. Anyway, click on link in lower-right of pop-up warning that says "visit this website". You'll get another pop-up confirming exception and asks your pw to store certificate in keychain. Then it's used for future visits and no more pop-up warnings.

I have now gone around this with the 2015 machine, three red flags to go past.
The only update available for me was an update on iTunes, something about third party "air play" speakers fix.

Another site that has given me the red flag, for two to three years now. https://powersports.honda.com
Looks like the same issuer
More flags for the "Honda dealer finder" site, seems to be run by a dealer?

No more warnings after first visit.

This was a large Certificate Authorities root cert that expired over the weekend. It had a ripple effect that impacted lots of things. The underlying issued certificates were all fine, but when the root goes bad, everything goes bad.

They likely reissued the cert with a more current one, and it's been automagically rippling through the interwebs and cleaning stuff up.

Aha. Perhaps this is what you mean?

Can you update just the browser? Perhaps there's a menu item in the browser itself to do that?

No way to ask for specific stuff.

Safari is the browser, no update button.
Apple icon is THE location to find system updates, now called App store.

Barf thing happened overnite, Thurs or Fri last week.
Honda thing on going for a couple of years. I didn't go there.

Looks like one could surf this "ripple"

Checking todays stats in SLO county got me this, ran ok yesterday.

Safari has always been cutting edge, too sharp sometimes for bank software.
Reverted to Firefox on these occasions.

What's curious about all this is I know we got beaten about with this at the office, but I haven't noticed anything on any of my machines here at home, nor our phones. So, we somehow managed to dodge the bullet.

Went back to emergencyslo site today to go around the red flag, as to check numbers. Morro Bay still @ 6
I breezed right thru.

"Automagically" must have visited.

I didn't run any update.
