Hmmm... looks like something that will end up on Santana Row, driven by some barely legal 'tard with rich parents and greazy hair, trying to compensate for the "angry inch" he's packing... :rolleyes If you're going to own a supercar then drive a nice, red Ferrari or a clean GT40, not some Caltrans orange car that screams out "attention whore".

Sorry, this thing looks like a kit car from the 80's built on a Fiero chassis and painted in whatever hideous color was left over from painting the Caltrans fleet... :laughing

Those aren't really street cars. Its another race car with blinkers really.

On the plus side you could buy one with no fear of a rapper having one too, can't fit over sized chrome wheels on.

The Gumpert was featured recently on top gear. It currently holds the record for fastest production car around the track.

I love it for it's engineering. I'm not such a fan of the styling, especially with the doors open.

Honestly, the Gumpert is really not much worse than a Bugatti Veyron... which is another bitchin supercar that just isn't all that good looking (although I saw the interior myself and it's definitely a piece of work). I've seen the Veyron in all-black and all-red (I liked the black one more) but some of the other color combinations make it look horrible. You can take your pic of most supercars and as soon as you paint it Caltrans orange or lime green or some other "attention whore" color, the car looks like crap.

I still think the Gumpert's overall design is just too much over the top, but it sure looks nicer in a non-Caltrans color:

From what I gather, the Gumpert was designed to generate down-force; the design is practical rather than aesthetic. From that perspective, I wouldn't really consider it over the top.

The Gumpert Apollo is a bit of a trackday kit car with some really gopping visuals, but its got the innards to spank most of the supercars out there on a track.

Not that I'd conclude it as hard science that its be best thing out there, but its topped the lap time board of the Top Gear track with a 1:17.1 - nearly a full 2 seconds quicker than an Enzo Ferrari.

It may look like junk, but it really is the business.

Supercars of the past are soooooo much better. Style was as important as function, as compared to what they're puking out today.

if your defintion of a supercar is the orange one that was first posted then they are uncomfortable and look gay most of the time.. example the first car that was posted. i would never spend money on that even if i could afford it.
