Hi all, long time, no see...
Within the past several years, I’ve come into possession of a large quantity of papers, photographs, magazine articles, and even some 8mm film compiled by several people (some of whom are no longer with us) who have been lifelong motorcyclists.
I’m going to post bits of it here on a periodic basis.
This archive comes from two sources (both mentioned by me Here in past postings) The Westside Motorcycle Club (1930’s-1970’s) headed by C. R. Saville (RIP) via his son, and from my friend James M Robb, originally from England, who came to the US to work for Bud Ekins, then on his own as a Vincent restorer and builder of parts and complete vehicles, both two and four wheeled.

I recently finished transcribing Jim’s handwritten memoirs, and we’re hoping to put enough together from that and his collection of old photographs to create a book.

Here’s a teaser:
Jim performing in the Land’s End Trial around 1955 while he was a member of the Army Trials team during his service as a dispatch rider in an artillery unit in the English Army.
I wish I could upload these full-size, there are several magazine articles that would be hard to read if I have to reduce them to 900 pixels Height.

Hey Carlo! :wave

here’s an example of how I was able to post a magazine article here in the BARF Vintage Cafe:
The SMR ...

I have to use jpeg pics and Wordpress.com (free), and then use img tags, instead of using BARF attachments, so it’s more involved, but seems to be a work-around to the attachments size limits ...

Our Club Historian is wading through our archives with a book in mind, I’ll give him a heads up to keep an eye out for your Westside MC ... :thumbup

thanks for the cool pic of Mr Robb! :ride
