Some people are just more flexible. No way my thumbs are touching my forearms but I know a few folks that can.

Fractured the one in my left wrist when I highsided at Thunderhill back in 2003. Took 4 months in a cast to heal properly. :(

Good news! Look after it dude - no heavy lifting etc, keep off the cigs if you can, and eat healthy.

I was cast 11 weeks, then soft brace as a precaution for another 8. Your hand will get seriously stiff and a bit nasty looking from being in the cast, but the movement (especially to the thumb) will come back quick, and the wrist shortly after.

You are never too old for cast art :).

Hang in there dude! I know that feeling too well!

I used a cast cooler for the stinky/itchy skin issue. You can have mine if you like? PM me. Might be a bit late - been on vacation and off the BARFs for a while.

Hopefully you are about done by now... Your skin is going to look bad when you get the second cast off, but it will be easy to scrub it off.

thanks for the offer. itching has not been bad, and the 1st cast comes off on the 24th. hoping for a soft cast but I could need surgery...my right hand is still pretty much useless.

Well after months and months of no riding I finally returned. My wrist did not bother me at all on the bike. I still don't have great strength and my range of motion is pretty poor. But I can race! wahoo!!

thanks fellas. I didn't even feel it when I broke it so with no doubt the wait was the worst part.

as for being in the worst shape of my life...

yup! did a big bike track day on the GSXR 750 and the wrist felt great. I could feel it after coming off the track towards the end of the day, but it did not slow me down.
