Another broken clavicle here. Follow up on Wednesday to see if I need surgery or not.

Major PITA
I broke my left clavicle in 2 spots about 17 years ago, bad day at the Berryessa GP. Because of other more life threatening injuries the collarbone just got the sling and time treatment. Needless to say my left shoulder is an inch in and an inch down from the right.
Glad to hear that surgery is now a more accepted option. It was never even mentioned to me as one. One thing I would recommend is once your comfortable with the "set" of the bone get occasional massages and chiropractic adjustments. Those really helped me return to the pre-crash state of body normality. At one point I did 3 massages and 2 adjustments in a week and I feel like that was a real turning point in my recovery. After that I continued with a once a month routine as maintenance

My right shoulder is lower than my left now... And its got a big lump.

I can give a good A : B comparison of surgery vs not. Surgery is stiffer to begin with. Non-Surgery hurts more, has more deformation, Is a lot weaker, and has taken 2x as long to heal (i'm at 16 weeks vs 8 weeks w/ surgery). Mobility/Range of motion is worse on the non-surgery shoulder/clavical (main issue is reaching across my chest from right to left at shoulder level)
