Opportunities to Participate in BLM’s Planning Revision Process

Attend Listening Sessions in Denver and Sacramento or Participate Online

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) recently announced that it is holding listening sessions to discuss revisions to how it develops and updates Resource Management Plans (RMPs). As planning sets the stage for how all multiple uses will be handled at individual units it is important that the recreation community have our voice heard on how important responsible access is to us. If you can’t attend in person the Denver meeting will have a livestream option for people to participate remotely.

Below is the text of the announcement from BLM:

Dear Interested Public,

You are receiving this message because of your past interest in the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) land use planning process or management activities.

As part of its ongoing effort to refine its land use planning process, the BLM will hold two public listening sessions in Denver and Sacramento. Both meetings will provide an overview of the Planning 2.0 initiative as well as a group discussion on methods to improve the BLM’s planning process.

The Denver meeting will convene October 1, 2014, 1pm to 5pm, MDT, at the Denver Marriott West, 1717 Denver West Boulevard, Golden, CO 80401. The Denver meeting will have a livestream option for people to participate remotely. The meeting can be accessed at www.blm.gov/live/.

The Sacramento meeting will take place October 7, 2014, 1pm to 5pm, at the Double Tree by Hilton Sacramento, 2001 Point West Way, Sacramento, CA 95815.

Individuals interested in preregistration for the listening sessions or subscription to the Planning 2.0 email contact list can contact the agency through the project’s website at www.blm.gov/plan2. Pre-registration is optional and is intended to help us plan for meeting setup.

Interested public that cannot attend either meeting can still provide written input for consideration. More information is available on the project's website.

Thank you for your time and input into the Planning 2.0 effort.
