Bad News for CA Adventurers

That would be really sad- public land should be open to the public. It may not be a riding area, but I stop at a lot of parks and monuments on my rides.

Yes, but there is a lot of good camping in State Parks...

You're both right. Too bad the camping is so pricey @ $25.00 a pop. There's plenty of free camping on undeveloped USFS land but you have to earn it by going further afield.

Got to start cuts somewhere? The biggest problem with the CA budget is NO ONE wants to get THEIR budget cut!!!!

Lets see how do we balance paying for State parks when teachers are loosing their jobs?

From an "out of state" perspective, the State legislator needs a swift kick in the ass and a "Reality Enema". If they were an individual with a credit card they would have been forced in to Bankruptcy a long time ago. Do they understand the meaning of "Fiscal Responsibility"?? Do they understand you cant spend more than you make? I don't think they understand or care.

Okay, 70-cent per hour parking meters in SF I can take. Don't like it, but it's nothing compared to this...

Sounds really punitive to me. State can't balance its budget, so no parks for you. :thumbdown

Well, that's a bummer about the state parks, but the 300%+ increase in parking for motorcycles is outrageous. How about raising bus fares to pay for the union's raises instead of hitting motorists and motorcycle riders?

If they cut the budget of the state parks, you can be sure that there won't be much law enforcement in them.

What's to stop a person from going there anyway?

Can you imagined the ramped-up meth production in those closed-down parks?

First thing I thought of. Outdoor growers will be stoked!

Somebody's gonna be exicted! :teeth
