Always bought Yuasa, should I look at lithium?

Battery time for the Duc. Ive been getting good life span out of Yuasa's. To change things up, is lithium something I should look into? I hear they arent the best for cold climates, but thats not a issue for me.

The Braille battery I have has been flawless for five years now. On really cold mornings when the bike has sat outside all night I just turn the key on, finish getting my gloves and helmet on, then start the bike. Works perfectly every time.

Look into Bikemaster Lithium batteries. Not the lead acid.

They run about $20 cheaper than Shorai and I have had great luck with them.

Actually Li Ion batteries work better in cold as far as lasting. But they need to be warmed up. So turn the key on and then get your gear on. Then it will fire up.

Almost all of my bikes are running Shorai batteries and no problems even after sitting for almost a yr without starting it.

It looks like Ricks motor sports makes some lithium friendly R/Rs.

Checked prices for my FJR1300. $189 at Shorei or $191 at Bikemaster.

You're lucky. Many bikes have parasitic draw that will deplete even a lithium ion battery.

I have Shorais in two bikes. They cost more but last a long time. One is 6 years, the other is 5. One thing, they don't crank well when they're really cold. You need to rank them for 30-45 seconds then let them warm up for a minute.

I stick with Yuasa because I know exactly what to expect and that they'll be the best quality for an AGM battery.

I'm in the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" camp with this and stick with what I know works well.

Both my bikes had oem Yuasa batteries. First lasted a bit over 10 years and I replaced it with another Yuasa. Second/current bike I've had for 5 years as of next week. Battery is still going strong. How long are Li Ion batteries supposed to last? I thought their main advantage was weight. I could lose a few pounds so I'm not too worried about saving a few pounds weight on a street bike.
