60 Mile Auburn Loop Pics

There's a nice little loop that starts between Auburn and Forrest Hill. This was my second time doing it and my first time using my new trailer. I'm looking for some other loops in the Foothills if anyone has any GPX tracks.
It was a lot colder than expected but still fun. Had to go around a few locked gates which were open last time :/

Nice! How did the bike do? Shifting issues solved? :thumbup

The bike did great. Shifts like butter :)
There are a few tiny things to solve still.
I decided to go back to OEM radiators $$$ and only the fan side was in stock, so I'm running the extremely bent one that came with the bike on the other side, while I wait.
There's a small amount of "coolant" that leaks out of the water pump weep hole , which I plan on fixing next.
The float bowl overflows when not running, but turning off the petcock solves that. I'm debating adjusting the float height (has a new needle valve already) vs getting a Lectron. I'm pretty sure I'll get the Lectron as the carb is super old. I've rebuilt it, but there are parts that aren't available like the internal throttle slide and wheels etc. and it would be nice to not have to worry about jets.
That's about all that's wrong with it.

Check with jetsrus.com if you haven't already. I've had real good results with them. Sounds like you need a new needle & seat. Pretty common on that model carb.

Don't know what your route was, but I always liked this 40 mile route:
https://www.google.com/maps/dir/38....cfdbb3f24!2m2!1d-120.8179891!2d39.0201768!3e0

Ponderosa Way -> Yankee Jims -> Shirt Tail Canyon -> Big Dipper -> Sugar Pine -> Finning Mill

Easy enough for a relative beginner to the dirt, but still interesting for the experienced riders.

Oh that's close to this route but a little different. This route goes around the other side of the two little reservoirs and crosses Forrest Hill road. It's all pretty easy with only one somewhat rocky / rutted section. Lots of gorgeous views and water falls.

It has a new needle valve, but not a new seat. This is the kit I used. I'm 95% sure I'll get the Lectron. Just about everything I've read about Lectron is positive.

Sweet, sounds fun! BTW, love the KTM orange on the trailer. :thumbup

Hehe Thanks. It's a little Power Rangerish when towing the KTM. I wasn't sure of the exact shade of orange since I ordered it online. It's just the standard orange for the trailer. I didn't want boring solid black. Plus it's high vis now. Safety First.

If anyone wants blueprints for an 8- 12-lb field howizer circa 1870(?), I've got them on Imgur. Build your own boomer!! :teeth

https://imgur.com/ is easy to use, works well for displaying photos in forums like this one, and doesn't have any restrictions to use like some others. Sign up with imgur, then share your photos.

Haha weird I sent one of the links from Barf to someone in hangouts as a test and they could view. But when I try to view them in Edge they don't work.
I'll sign up for Imgur.
