1982 GS1100GL redux

Its an old motorcycle that was never meant to be a sportbike or handle modern sticky rubber. Don't overdo it or that frame might wobble itself into a pretzel.
They have good low end torque even by today's standards so its good at what its meant to be.
With the mods you've made I'd add a steering damper just for insurance. Its will reduce tankslappers but that bike will still wallow through the sweepers.

My first street bike (my 3rd motorcycle overall), 32 years ago, was a 79 Suzuki GS :laughing I feel like I've got this one under control, but I appreciate the concern :thumbup :ride

I just think that bike is too clean to not look original.

Yamaha's Maxim 1100 from that era looks pretty sweet also.

Nice work! Love the old gs line. I had several e models and a gs1000 katana. Yours looks great and it’s wonderful that it will get a second life! Woot!

I put a lot of miles on an 82 1100GS. Bullet proof engine as many a drag racers will tell you. I paid $3200 OTD brand new!

Very cool! More pics!

I think I gave you the cream of the lot! :laughing I've been meaning to get a solid ride-by video. The exhaust compliments this engine very nicely :cool

It was "free" to me, but I have $1800 into it since, and it's pretty much perfect at this point:thumbup
