    Welcome BETA BARFers!

Question... after the cutover, will links to postings on the old forum still work?

    Welcome BETA BARFers!

A bit of initial feedback... 1. It's looking great! 2. A "favicon" upgrade would be nice, the current one is a bit dated and grainy. 3. I didn't (yet, anyway) get email from a password reset request. My mail server uses greylisting which rejects the first email from a new sender with a...

    BARF database corruption?

I noticed a couple of threads where if you click on a higher numbered page, or "Last", you get the same lower-numbered page. Like the internal post count is higher than the actual post count. A couple of examples: https://bayarearidersforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=542611&page=100...

Any Google Voice gurus out there?

Before moving to the Land of Oz I had Google Fi, and that continued to work well even after the move. But after a year or so Google got tired of giving me data roaming at the US rate, and I gave up on Fi and switched to a local SIM and cellular plan. For several reasons I still needed my US...

IRS "Get My Payment" is finally online, but does it work?

Today I noticed the IRS "Get My Payment" portal that's supposed to let you check the status of your stimulus payment, and let you enter bank info for direct deposit of it, is finally online. However when I click Get My Payment and enter SSN, DOB and address, I get the message "Payment Status...

    Got any sketches of yourself?

Here's one of me and my wife in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago. Most street art is caricatures, but here we requested something more "realistic" and the artist was happy to oblige.

    360 Photos Support?

With my Android camera app there's an option to take a picture as a "photosphere". This is a fully panoramic picture of basically everything you can see when standing in a particular spot. There are also specialized cameras for this. I worked out a way to support these in phpBB and surely...

    CB500X Snatchy Throttle

I have a 2016 CB500XA and the throttle response is pretty abrupt at low speeds. Getting on in years :afm199 I'd like to have better speed control on tight curves and/or gravel. Any suggestions?

How to embed images from Google Photos

I've been working on a new forum for expats in Australia. This led me to search for a way to include pictures from Google Photos in forum postings with a direct URL, not one that links to my Google account and the other pictures in it. I found a way to do this and wrote it up here. Enjoy!

Custom user title doesn't like "m"

I tried to put the word "I'm" in my custom user title and it shows up as "I'*". Similarly "I m" shows up as "I *". Is m a censored word? :laughing

    Riding Around in Oz

Some pics from Sunday before last. I decided it would be good to take a 7-hour day trip to Glen Innes and back on a loop of scenic countryside. Most of these are snapshots from the helmet camera. On the A1 motorway. That's *kilometers* per hour. :) Australians don't seem to understand that...

    First Ride in Oz

Greetings from the East coast of Australia! I've been moto-less for nine months and finally picked up a second hand 2016 CB500XA two days ago. It's in perfect condition, bone stock, never dropped, 3400 miles. A good deal for me, the owner was underwater on the loan and wanted to get out of it...

    Missing Riding

We've upped and moved to Australia, so had to sell the Weestrom. Soon it will be time for a new ride. Yep, they drive on the left. And yep, they allow "filtering" :) but only when traffic is not moving. :( And it's tomorrow here. :laughing

    CHEAP Reliable Car, One Owner

EDIT: SALE PENDING. My wife and I have a 1997 Infiniti i30 with 208,000 miles. It isn't worth much due to its age, but it's well maintained and runs perfectly. We are the original owners and responsible mature adults. We'd keep it if we were not moving to Australia next month. Silver...

Rear stand, charger, inflator, chain lube, helmets

Moving to Oz, sold the moto, need to get rid of a few items. I'm in Fairfield. Pit Bull rear stand $75. Schumacher 1-amp charger, Slime portable inflator, shrink-wrapped can of DuPont chain lube; make an offer for those. Also have a couple of used helmets: Suomy Apex XL; Scorpion EXO-200 XXL...

    Moto theme shirts?

Wasn't sure where to post this, so the sink gets it. :teeth I was given an "old guys rule" t-shirt recently featuring a helmetless :afm199 on a "lifestyle" bike. I returned it 'cause too small, and also 'cause it sucks. :laughing But I do want to acknowledge the sentiment by replacing it...
