What do you want to accomplish in your life?

I have had a good life and I have many personal accomplishments, no regrets. I hope to keep doing the things I like to do (riding and racing)for a few more years yet.

    Any BARF Audiophiles?

In many hi-end systems, the woofer towers face forward to eliminate localization or more likely to minimize the effect of localization. I prefer this arrangement. While large sub-arrays don't have localization issues, they do energize the room so you do know when low frequency information is...

What Happened to the guy that Started Riding by Racing an R1?

The guy that didn't know how to ride and started on the race track with an R1. Anybody got a link to the original thread? Is the guy still around?

    norton commando advice

I think I'd rather have a new Street Cup or Thruxton. The Norton is good if you live at the top of a hill.

    Indian Scout FTR1200

Something closer to this would work for me but the more race bike like the better. BTW, this is the baseline motor used in the factory Harley flat tracker.

Thoughts on GSXR's with handlebar conversions?

Back in the day ALL Superbikes had handlebars, I'm not sure how fast you are but I bet the fast guys on old Superbikes were faster. My friend Dennis Smith was pretty handy on one.

Isle of Man Trip Booked, I am Stoked!

Well boys and girls, we're back from practice week. We had an absolute ball. Too much stuff to list. The first thing that happened was our taxi driver is a racer (Kevin Murphy https://www.facebook.com/kevin.a.murphy.1) and he picked us up later in the day for a proper lap around the circuit...

Do MotoAmerica Riders Make Any Money?

I could answer this question back in my day, very few roadracers made enough money to earn a living. But what about today? Do the top 5 riders in MotoAmerica make a living wage? Top 10?

Calling for all vintage personal AFM/ AMA racing pictures

Probably not tee-shirt worthy but here's my brother John Schaeffer, crew chief/bike builder for Chris Stewart. I'm not sure of the year? 1988ish maybe. I'm not sure of the track either back then we raced Sears, Ontario, Riverside, Willow Springs, and others. Edit: I believe both these bikes...

How optimistic are you about collecting social security benefits?

I didn't read the whole thread, too lazy. My first thought about this is that SS is not going anywhere, it has expanded and grown continuously since it's inception in 1935. Benefits will not be cut but there may be some adjustment in retirement age due to people living longer. Basically SS is a...

Why do the wealthy need more money?

I can share my experience. Property tax was not an issue for me as I had a modest house (by California standards) and my tax base was low. The big changes are services, insurance and consumer products. My insurances are near half, services are much cheaper and big items are much less. And let's...

    California Assault Weapon Registration

I've been a competitive shooter with Garands, M14s, and AR15s for over 30 years. These guns are required to compete in the National Matches. I'm in the process of building a new one right now. This is my current rifle: What you can't see is that this gun is made strictly for target shooting and...
