    Tire slipping on rim

A couple of weeks ago I installed new tires on my CBR 600, carefully aligning the red markers with the valve stem, and then spending some time balancing the wheels on my static balancer. Went out for a brief ride and was amazed at how smoother the bike felt -- and promptly congratulated myself...

For sale is a size Medium, Icon Airmada Chantilly helmet, in the Black Rubatone scheme. The helmet is brand new in its box, with all tags attached, and has never been worn. It has an immense field of view, locking shield, great ventilation, and such a compact design that no chin curtain is...

    Countershaft threads stripped

I went to replace the CS sprocket on my WR250R, and the nut would not turn. Using a breaker bar I was able to turn it, but then realised it was not unthreading. It appears that the threads have stripped (aftermarket sprocket installed by previous owner), so what are my options now? 1. Dremel...

Cam lobe wear: how does this one look?

I pulled the camshafts off my 2008 CBR600RR to adjust the valves, and the intake valves of cylinders 1 and 4 appear to have some wear marks: The surface is smooth as glass, one cannot feel these as scratches or pits, but the lobes on cylinders 2 and 3 are pristine, as are all the lobes on...

CCT Holder Tool on a CBR600RR

Has anyone used a tool like the K&L CCT Holder in order to retract the CCT on a 2007+ CBR600RR? There is very little clearance between the CCT and the frame of the CBR, so it looks as if the tool will not fit. If anyone has had a positive experience with this (or similar) tool, I would...

    FREE: Real wood office desk

This was being used as an office desk in my previous place, but it was too big to fit through the doors of my new house. It therefore ended up sitting in my garage waiting for a good opportunity to use, which never came. Desk is in good condition, and drawers slide smoothly. It is 72" wide, 35"...

    SOLD - 2006 Suzuki DR 650 SE

Bike has been sold on CL. For sale is my 2006 Suzuki DR650. The bike is in very good condition, up to date with all maintenance work, and needs nothing. It is not a garage queen, it has been ridden all across California and Oregon on long trips, but it has been well taken care of. You can buy...

    Engine cutting off intermittently

2008 CBR600RR with about 35k miles, never had valves checked, spark plugs replaced at 8k, never had a problem with the bike. Rode it to Thunderhill this past Sunday without any issues, but during trackday on Monday the engine would occasionally (and very briefly) cut off while I was coming onto...

    Front and Rear stands, cheap

Sold. Rear stand is a DMP S-Spec, probably an earlier version of the current one. It's in good shape and works very well. Front stand is unbranded, probably Cycle Gear's house brand (Trackside). It's in decent shape and works fine. Asking $40 for both. PM works best.

FREE: Battlax BT015, life left for commuting

I have a pair of Bridgestone Battlax BT015 that I pulled off my bike, they're 120/70-17 Front and 180/55-17 Rear. There is quite some tread left, but the tyres are from late 2008, so I would use these for commuting purposes only and not try to push them in twisties. I don't commute, so I...

Need wrench for CBR600RR shock adjustment

I need to soften the preload on the shock of my 2008 CBR600RR, and the standard wrenches (like the Motion Pro) are too thick to engage the tiny grooves in the CBR preload collar. Does anyone have a wrench that I can borrow, or does anyone know of a wrench that I can buy and will definitely work?

Lowside lesson: beware of brand new (bicycle) tires

I felt very confident about my brand new tires: they felt very sticky while mounting them. Went for a ride, and in the very first corner I apparently leaned the bike way too much, lost the front wheel, and found myself sliding down the street. Fortunately, that was my pedal bike, so the speed...

Free to good home: used Shinko 705 front tire 90/90-21

I have a size 90/90-21 Shinko 705 front tire that has about 5,000 miles on it. Thread is about 2/3, date of manufacture is 34/11, and the rubber is still very pliable (the tire has spent most of its life in my garage). I have switched to the Shinko 700 tire that I prefer, so if anyone wants to...

FS: AMC-600-2 Double Motorcycle Hitch Mounted Carrier, Brand New

I recently bought a bike, and this motorcycle carrier came with it. It is still in its sealed box, so no pictures of the actual item, but you can see what it looks like, and read reviews of it, in the above Amazon link. The lowest price I can find for it is $250 plus $45 for shipping, i.e...

    Unusual speeding ticket

Was driving south on 680 (Milpitas) on the left lane (car, not bike), and I see a patrol car stopped on the left shoulder. This is not an uncommon sight, and usually the officer is outside his vehicle shooting radar at the approaching cars (forcing everyone to brake). Not this time though, since...
