first time into the hills with a street tracker project!

It's been a 2,1/2 year work in progress with all manner of interruption, and today was the first time I reached past my neighborhood's threshold, dawdling up Tunnel Road and then Grizzly Peak, stopping briefly at the Wall to look for loose bolts and leaking gaskets. Not the best picture but...

    my desk project installed!

My partner and I recently moved into a new house with a detached garage/workshop big enough to realize all my Unibomber fantasies. Anyone have Olympic BMX footage to share?

Pretty cool to see this sport make it to into the fray! Even if it's the Olympikx(tm), it's terribly exciting to follow the riders...their technique is absolutely brilliant. It's no wonder this is such a feeder sport in and of itself: the riders have to develop timing, explosive power, and...

    My New Commuting Pedalbike!

Well I eyed a sale in the performance catalog on a Scattante cross 7005 Alu frame+carbon fork+headset for under $250 and felt a need to treat myself after a long hard winter. Garish paint job was bead-blasted away and an understated clearcoat applied to the frame. Then it was time to sift...

Does This Head Gasket Look Too Large?

Hi All - Finally getting back to the XL600 engine rebuild here. The guys who did the cylinder rebuild sent me a larger gasket for my head because it was bored over a couple sizes (100.25mm). Due to the holidays, I haven't been able to get ahold of them to ask, so I'm posing a question for...

Hi, I'm working on a street tracker project right now and am spec'ing out the front end. I'm trying to find a set of forks measuring 32-33" from the axle clamp to the top of the fork tube in order to provide the correct geometry. They also need to have the axle clamp set collinear to the...

    fiberglass/plastic fuel tank fabrication

Greetings- I'm thinking through the steps involved for a street tracker project bike here that I just got. For one, the existing fuel tank will need to be switched out for something that resembles a more classic shape. In the spirit of DIY, I'd like to audaciously propose that I make it...
