Ten Facts about Zoran shirt for AFM Cornerworkers

Here's the deal. Zoran doesn't want to mess with making the shirt, so I'm running off 50 of them and donating all the profits to the AFM cornerworkers at the Buttonwillow Race. The only person who will get a free shirt is Zoran, so don't ask. ;) Shirts will be white with TWF logo on front...

Vik's reflections on a weird weekend

First, I’d like to dedicate my race weekend to my friend Tracker. I got word on Friday that he had been found dead in his apartment. Tracker was a larger than life fellow, literally and figuratively, and I often find myself telling stories of his antics. While he only stood a mere 6’5”, he could...

    188 race report

I came into this weekend with the goal of continuing my steady, if not slow, rate of improvement. Last month, my goal was to improve a certain corner and I spent the entire day on Friday working on it. My efforts paid off and I ran steady 2:05s. This weekend, my goal was to improve on another...

    I fought the law...

...and I won. It took 10 months, three "trials" and all kinds of time, but I finally beat my red light ticket. On August 30, 2005, I got a ticket for running a red light. I was stopped at an intersection for a red light and waited for the lights to cycle. When it came my turn for a left turn...

    Stolen truck recovered

They found the truck and trailer in a place called Pleasant Hill, about 20 miles from where it was stolen. It's been sitting there probably since the day it was stolen. The trailer is there with the locks cut. The sport chock is still inside. They say the truck looks pretty good. The stero is...

Looking for use of a ramp this afternoon (6/1) in San Rafael.

I have purchased a truck in San Rafael and due to various issues, I need to ride my bike down to pick it up. I have my canyon dancer and tie downs all loaded up, I just need a way to load the bike into the truck. Once home, I can use my own ramp. I will pay for the convenience of borrowing a...

Vik's Short and Long race reports

Short story: I met all my goals for this race season on the final race weekend. Kudos to Leo Vince

The Leo Vince guys set up next to my pits and really were a class act. Beyond the fullsystem they gave away at lunch, they handed out a pile of shirts, hats, backpacks, etc. and sounded genuinely interested in coming in as a sponsor at some level. Very cool. Bitchin' Magnum, too.

    Trackside Babysitter

OK, this usually isn't an issue; but, sometime I have no option but to bring my 4 year old boy to the track with me. I like having him there and he gets a big kick out of being at the track. It's really cool that he can spot me out of the other riders on the track. The problem is both my...
