I plan to install a carbon fiber exhaust on my 2006 CBR1000RR. What I want to know is that since the exhaust is carbon fiber, can I remove the heat shield? Somebody at motowrx told me since it is carbon fiber I don't need the heat shield. I wasn't sure if I should trust that so I asked around...

Anybody ever used a stainless steel oil filter, or does anyone know about these? Are they just as good as paper filters? Are they better, worse? Could someone shed some more light on this for me? Thanks Oh, and here's a link to the filters.
