Easter Sunday Mt Tam Sunrise Ride ...?

Uh, yeah, "Pepesm" come on. An un-irate resident is making a reasonable request. And it's a respectful back and forth discussion. When I'm in my little neighborhood here in Oakland, I always keep the revs and load low so as to not irritate folks. Are you also one of those guys that free revs your loud bike like mad to "compel" cars get out of your way when lane sharing, likely too fast? If CA loses lane sharing, like every other state in the union, it'll be because of fools like that. Not saying you're one of 'em, but your attitude here does make you 'sound' that way... (Pardon the pun) Let's keep it civil, huh?

Wish I could be there with you guys. To ride my quiet BMW past MtTamResident's house at a sedately quiet pace.
But even if the 600 miles separating me from Mt Tam wasn't enough, it's our 35th anniversary, married in Ross, April 21 1979, marriage license obtained in San Francisco, wedding night at The house in Bolinas.
Anne and I will be spending tomorrow and Monday in Portland.
I'm working on a vintage BMW ride down later, but probably not 4th of July this year.

The resident IS irated anyways. Nevertheless, this person needs to learn to ABIDE.

exploring!
Absolutely. Man.

Hope you got to sleep in Mt Tam dude. Hope all the riders enjoyed a great sunrise.

It was amazing. My breath was literally taken away by the beauty.

Mt Tam resident, I hear and respect your concerns. I rode mellow the whole way up, like it was my neighborhood, and brought my quiet bike this year. I hope you and yours have a happy Easter.

Hi Vintage Cafe,

Couple more pics ... this is BARF's vintage bike forum, after all ... :laughing

Got to chat with a few guys who
rode the Easter Ride back in the Mean Marshall days ... They estimated over
500 bikes this year ... I believe them ...

Nice.
Looks like a good day.

Riding up there in the dark ought to have been enough to keep speeds and attendant noise levels down.

Ha, ha! You know that's Mean Marshall (founder of the Easter Ride) in that picture, right?

Hahahaha ... No, I didn't. I was thinking that the Easter Ride started in the '50s, so the guy I was chatting with at the gate was WAY too young to have been Mean Marshall ... he sure did know a lot about the history of the Easter Ride! No wonder ... :thumbup

Now I can hopefully shake his hand next Easter ... :ride

see you under the watch-tower, :party
