Me Too!!!

In fact, I was telling my buddy Doug (this evening) that if my old R-100GS valve guides were installed I would be asking SFMCJohn if I could join him on his route!

:thumbup:ride

... would love to see the BMW ... :party

... I'm heading out this afternoon ...
thinking of going up clockwise toward Red Bluff
and making my way east tomorrow to Cedarville and
doing Gerlach on the way home ... :dunno

... those ADV guys are stomping all over me
in the leave-early-for-the-rally effort ... :laughing

The old Beemer is a fine old moto.
It's taken me far and carries a load well.

Looking forward to seeing ya tomorrow John!
I'll be slabbing with trailer to Mom's (in Anderson) hopefully today. Will complete the trip by mid-day Thursday. Set camp and prepare to ride!

I will be on infant duty - but will be there in spirit! Are you going to Stevens Camp? It's not hunting season, so it should be open.

... camping tonight on Hogback Road east of Red Bluff ...
Mt Lassen in the distance ... :party

... hope to see you all tomorrow night! :ride

It was great to meet you all. I had an awesome time at my first Adventure rally event. I hope this becomes an annual event for many years to come.

Ah shit this already happened. Looks like a great time, except maybe SFMCjohn, who went down the dreaded Hogsback Road!

There is always Weaverville though...

ha, yes, I got to go _up_ Hogsback ... it was dreadful! :laughing

... lotsa rocks, huge pot hole-ponds (dry thank goodnesss),
about 1,000,000 cows on the lower
half and had to ride right by two scary looking bulls ...

A minor obstruction. No we didn't get past this one, but we did on another the same size thanks to m0t0_ryder blazing a trail - (I forgot to take pictures, but I've got some video to post later) That's Distant thunder and Jon from ADV - can't remember Jon's inmate name :mad

Too bad I missed it. I started heading up Friday morning with a trailer, but my SUV struggled to stay past 50 mph against the major headwinds on I-505 and 5! I thought there might be something wrong with vehicle, or at least not comfortable pushing it all the way to Redding. So, I turned around and went back home. I would not have been comfortable with the safety and stress while on bike either. Anyone else face this?

Checked out the vehicle, and it is fine. Next day, I took the trailer to Bear Valley to test a climb and no problem.

John, it was a pleasure to have you join.

re: the picture of cowboys I was out front of our group stretching the DR's legs when a car flashed its lights at me. I started slowing down, crested a hill and encountered a wall of beef. :nchantr :laughing I slowed down as quick as I could then turned off the engine to wait for the horseback riders to get the cows where they needed to go. It definitely explained why there was so much cow poo on the road.

Damn I really did miss out! Good job TWT for setting a precedent at Cedarville. Guessing the only way to get that cool sticker is to actually go like I said I would:twofinger
